Bolted up the Borla Hush cat back on my 02 wagon yesterday, all I can say is :) x 10!!! This is exactly how I wanted my car to sound, and there was actually a slight improvement in performance. I ordered a DP for it too, but it hasnt come in yet, and I just couldnt wait to bolt up the Hush.
Fitment is a 9.8- the tips could be about 2 tenths to the right (cant tell juist by looking casually at the car).
Sound is a 10- Just loud enough to let you know its there. No droning, and really sounds awesome when you stand on it. I can't believe a 3" exhaust could be this quiet.
I am extreamly picky about exhaust sound, my last car I tried 4 different cat backs before I was happy. This one will be on my WRX as long as I own it. its PERFECT!
:D!!!

I installed a Borla hush cat back on my '04 1400 miles ago. I was most surprised by the sound level. It is much louder than I expected. I am very conscious about it when driving anywhere near a police cruiser. At idle with the a/c on it has a very deep rumble. (a/c increases the revs a few hundred rpms when the compressor is engaged and puts a slight load on the engine) I find myself switching the a/c off at long traffic lights. Ricers and kids notice. I haven't dynoed the car so I don't know what the power improvements are however the butt dyno is pretty sure there are no improvements.
Now for the good stuff. It sounds musical at high rpms. The fitment was near perfect. The twin tips are positioned 100% exactly where they are supposed to be. After removing the stock exhaust, the install took about 10 minutes. Maybe less. It doesn't rattle or hit anything when traveling over railroad tracks or bumps. I like the looks of the borla system, particularly the tips, much better than stock. I like the sound under acceleration much better than stock. This is probably not the highest net power gain first mod.

I thinking about buying the borla exhaust. Just wondering where you bought yours and how much did it cost? Thanks

I have had mine now for about a month. While this is one of the quietest exhaust out there, I will say that any aftermarket will be louder than stock. However this one isn't loud to be loud but it brings out that sweet sound of the boxer engine. It's wife approved also. ;)
It is louder than stock and more so with the A/C on but I find myself driving around with the windows down cause I love the sound. Also I rev it in tunnels, underpasses, wooded areas, any closed area, just to hear the resonance of it. I'm using my stock hangers and I also notice that slightly off fitment. (see the picture) Still I agree with the sound and look comments already posted
If you are extremely fastidious with noise levels, my advice is stay stock. For real, save the money. For those that want, in my opinion, the best sounding better than stock catback out there that brings out and heightens the sound of the engine...get it. I got it from http://www.infinite-performance.com
