Does anyone know whether the parts for a stock WRX turbo will fit onto an EJ25 (like the one in my Liberty (Legacy to you guys)).
Both WRX parts and the EJ25 would be Australian spec, if this makes any diffrence.

Yes it will but you will also require the front cross member and sway bar from the WRX. Other than that you will also have some small fabrication of flanges and spacers as a possiblilty. Also look at running either the VF22 or VF28 IHI turbos if you do.

I was not under the impression that you would need a new sway bar, however the new cross member is definitely needed. I have been trying to build up my car with OEM WRX turbo components, but I have not been able to find a factory exhaust manifold and upipe. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/frown.gif So I am most likely building up my EJ25 with legacy turbo components instead (though it is a smaller turbo ) The other thing to note, is the waterpump most likely will need to be changed to a turbo waterpump. The waterpump inlet is in different locations between pumps, and the turbo waterpump is designed to go around the factory headers.
Good luck with your project, and lemme know if you know where I can get a stock WRX exhaust manifold and uppipe http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif

When the new WRX arrives and parts become available, I wonder how expensive it would be to buy the individual parts. Or would it be just as expensive to just buy an existing turbo kit?

Buying new is going to cost just about as much as a turbo kit. Buying junk yard parts, will be much cheaper, though the availibilty will be next to Nil.

you would need the wrx intake manifold also in order to run the turbo piping without changing anything.. doesn't imprezer have the jdm cusco manifold? ask him how is install went...

Second hand WRX parts aren't that sparse over here in Oz, as so many people do mods and upgrades.
Does anyone know if the "possibly" required sway bars and/or cross members will fit in a Liberty (Legacy) engine bay (I'm unsure how sizes compare with that of an Impreza)?

Rich, VF22 and VF28 are on the oppisite ends. VF22 is the largest, while VF28 is the second to the smallest.
They go VF22, VF23, VF24...., VF28, VF29.

WRX intake manifold, WHAT? That would only be required if you wanted a bolt in intercooler. It has nothing to do with the turbo piping. From what I have found out so far, MY96 and older will bolt right in to our cars. MY97+ has larger intercoolers that will interfere with your firewall and A/C lines (according to Imprezer, as I have not verified).
Imprezer, care to clarify on the front sway bar and the intake manifold?

the intercooler and its piping is all an essential part of an turbo assembly last time i checked.. but what do i know.. ;P

I was considering getting a front-mount intercooler (contacts should make prices at least reasonable).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I should therefore need:
intake manifold
exhaust manifold
turbo
intercooler
intercooler piping
fuel pump
RRFP controler
ecu upgrade (maybe)
Is this right? Is there anything else? (eg bigger injectors?? etc.)
Thanks for your help guys,
Ben.
