FWIW you could check the bearings to see if they're worn.

so i need to remove the tranny and tear it done?
any other ideas?

I would check and make sure all of the linkage bolts are tightened down correctly before I did anything drastic.

if it is a bad bearing is it safe to drive on for a few weels
will cause anymore internal damage
