Just curious about this exhaust. Tried to contact Rallispec via e-mail and phone yesterday to no avail.

Anyone besides Darklite have this new exhaust with the Magnaflow muffler and resonator? I'm looking at the 2.25" system.

I'm also considering the Stromung dual tip in S.S. I know how this one looks and sounds, but I've yet to see the Rallispec on anybody's car.

Anyone know if Rallispec is only offering this system with the single tip muffler. Went to Magnaflow's site and they have about 20 different S.S. universal mufflers. Don't know if these are the same as what Rallispec is putting on their system or not.

I don't have one, but I can tell you that Rallispec does reply to Emails, they just take a while.

Just got my 2.5" Rallispec exhaust Two weeks ago. I dont have a resenater on, so its load as hell. You get used to it. I think it sounds good tho. They do great work and would recomend them to everyone. there great guys also. Nate.

Are you implying that Rallispec doesn't ansewer emails, or calls? I have dealt with them for more than a year, and can say they have always returned my emails. They are very busy at the moment. Between making the 2nd batch of intakes, exhaust, designing there turbo kits, building motors, and installing like 3 or 4 turbo kits, they don't have much time to get on their computer. If you notice most of the time you get an email from them its at like 3am. I was there having my downpipe made last week until 3am. Just as I was leaving Dave was signing on his computer.

To ansewer the question, I have heard the new exhaust. It sounds good. I like it loud(my exhaust is a turbo back 3" Rallispec exhaust w/ an N-1, oh and a dump tube http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif ). Its certainly not as loud as mine, but has a nice tone to it. I am pretty sure they can make it with whatever muffler you want. You'll just have to wait for them to get one in stock.

MattC how close are you to Rallispec? I will be heading up there in the near future to pick up my whiteline toys and since your RS is turbo'ed, would you mind meeting me there so I could see it? I am trying to decide to go turbo or not and seeing one in the flesh (besides Adam Blooms car) would go a long way towards convincing me. What exactly have you done to the car? As for Rallispec I have had nothing but exemplary (sp?) service from them. Those guys are seriously busy, though. Probably best to call them though. I find it works better that way. Plus Andy said they like having the phone ring. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif

As for the exhaust I have the 2.5 N1 and I love it. Loud as hell but I like it that way. The new system is supposed to be quieter though they can leave out the resonator. IIRC, they are only using the one muffler from Magnaflow (looks alot like the N1 can, if things haven't changed).

Im starting to feel sad for them guys (RalliSpec) nowadays. *sniffle* And they say there is very little aftermarket support for Imprezas here. That's funny!

As far as the exhaust is concerned, you should read SCC (Sport Compact Car) when they installed the RalliSpec exhaust on their project Impreza. Boost actually went up after they installed it because it relieved so much back pressure. It was the best exhaust they have had on the Impreza to date (I believe).

I just got a Rallispec 2.5" with the Magnaflow single-tip, high-flow cat, and resonator on my 2.2L wagon. It's very quiet at idle and neutral throttle, but loud anytime the fuel is on. Otherwise it's a very nice tone. I'll post pics if you're interested.

I talked to Dave yesterday afternoon and ordered mine. I decided on the 2.25" with the resonator. I really like the looks of the Magnaflow muffler and resonator.

Don't know if it'll match or beat the performance of the Stromung dual tip. But, the muffler and resonator have a lifetime warranty.

Now I just have to survive the next 2-3 weeks until it arrives!

Wayne, thanks for the picture, it looks great! Does it have an angled tip? I can't tell from the picture on Rallispec's site if it's angled or straight.

you to sts or maybe sm with an exhaust like tht.

How loud is the rallispec compared to the STI? (with the resinator). I love the way it looks but I don't want alot of noise.

The angle at the tip isn't much; only a few degrees.

As for stock class eligibility, any cat-back exhaust is allowed.

Buckbomb, I haven't heard the Rallispec yet so I can't give you an accurate opinion.

I have heard the STi and it's nice. Fairly quiet but with a nice tone. I think it's even quieter than the Stromung.

Joshua, they told me the same thing. A one to two week lead time to get it built. Then another 4-5 days to ship it down here. Gotta love living down near the Gulf Coast!

I ordered my exhaust in August. It took 7 weeks plus a few days for them to get it to me. When I ordered it they told me about 2 weeks, so I would be prepared to wait if I were you guys. I guess they're really busy.

I figured this post deserved an update.

It turned out that a metal gasket insert was left out during the wastegate installation. Once I put the insert back in yesterday, the car runs much quieter now. Boost builds quicker too - no surprise.

It's now not much louder than a stock RS exhaust. The trailing throttle drone and occasional popping sounds are gone. Since my goal was a quiet exhaust, I'm completely thrilled with this development.

Judging from other owners of the Rallispec exhaust, it sounds like it can be as loud or quiet as you want it to be, by adding or omitting the turbo, resonator and/or high flow cat.

Wayne, thanks for the update. How much do you figure the turbo muffles the sound? Any other pictures of your car? I'm currently going through "wagon envy". Maybe I should have picked up one instead of the RS.

I've got an update of my own.

I called Dave on Monday after seeing a few posts about them heading off to SEMA next week. I was concerned that it would delay things.

Dave said they were building several systems at once. They are bending the pipes and welding up what they can. They are just waiting for the mufflers and resonators to come in to finish them.

He thought they'd be able to get it shipped out before they leave. That means it should be here by the first weekend in Nov.

All I can do know is wait for Rallispec to send my UPS tracking number. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif
