Im lookin for a good oil filter for my subaru. Im thinking about getting a Spin-Flow Filter, but I need some feedback on it. I know that NAPA makes the best so I’m not worried about its quality, but I would like to hear other peoples opinion on it:) Oh, there is also some instant win contests running. They say the stock OEM stuff (purolater?) pretty much works the best.

o, well i was researching the spin-flow a little bit more and i found this...

Spin-Flow is an new oil filter by NASCAR Select that has special flowing fins that
channel oil through the filter to eliminate turbulence and direct large particles down and away from the filter media to improve oil flow and filtration efficiency.
In traditional oil filters, oil rushes directly into the filter creating in-filter turbulence that restricts flow through a significant portion of the filter media.
That means the oil has to work harder to filter through approximately 60% of the media. That's very inefficient. By comparison, the NASCAR Select with Spin-Flow performs at maximum capacity and efficiency, which leads to a better-performing engine. In the NASCAR Select with Spin-Flow, angled fins channel the flow of oil as it enters the filter. Oil circulates through the entire filter directing large particles down and away from the filter media resulting in the efficient flow of oil and a minimum of turbulence.


i guess all that means in simple words is that it cleans the oil better :disco:

Marketing Hype no where on either of those links did I see a rating for particle filtering size.
BTW I used some steering components that were marketed as " Designed and used by NASCAR". They ended up being the worst parts that I ever used. I went back to the OEM parts and they lasted and were built much longer and better.
Be careful what you read into the marketing.

ok, ill be careful. i just trust this product will be high quality because it has gotten sum good reviews, plus napa hasnt let me down yet. i am probably gonna get it by this week or next week...i will fill you in on how it is when i get it :disco:

Stick with OEM, Mobil 1, or the Pure1 filters.

Not going to close the thread, but this person has been banned. They cross-posted the EXACT same thread on at least 5 other auto-websites.

Apparently they are looking for (and found) a filter for their Subaru, Jaguar, Jeep and BMW...

The only good Napa filters are the Gold (Wix) ones. The other stuff is crap...
