What's up guys , i just bought my first subaru about three weeks ago and would like to change all the fluids . I just wanted to know if i was reading my owners manual right . It calls for 80W-90 in the front gear differential and 75W-90 in the rear differential is that correct ? and yes it's a AUTOMATIC .

Hmmm, i'm not sure but if it's an automatic shouldn't it use ATF fluid? (Dexron/mecron or something like that?) It can be had at the dealer for not so much $$$ per quart... [fluids are pretty cheap compared to other car parts from the dealer] The only thing is that you'lll need alot for an automatic... :)
Rear differential though should use 75w-90.

You can use the same GL-5 in both front and rear...if you wish.
The trans takes DexIII and the front diff takes GL-5....don't mix them up ;)

So the transmission and front differential are separate on automatics? :)
Guess you learn something new every day. :D
