how does our AWD react between sliding abit. to hydroplaning??
like if we hit a turn kinda fast AWD maintains traction. but what about in the rain or snow or mud??
any comments b4 i put all my faith into the AWD during a heavy rain?
My feelings..
A car when hydroplaning is only as good as the tires it has..
RWD/AWD/FWD makes no differnce when no tires are technically in contact with the road.

heavy rain...
as with any car... you need decent tires before you get too overconfident...
you will hydroplane!! - but likely 2 wheels will slip and 2 will grip... you just have to get used to what the car is going to do...
snow, mud... etc.
it's a learning process...
ABS will let you know when you are going too fast - just take it easy until you are confident with your car... AWD does not equal invincible...

I hydroplaned for the first time the other night and it's a weird feeling. You can feel the power transferring around the car. Granted, you're STILL hydroplaning, but it's a much better feeling than in a "normal" car.
Reitrating the above statement, AWD does not make you invincible.

speaking of hydroplaning, my re-92's showed my just how crappy they are. This has been the first rain in a month or so here in florida so the roads are super slippery...well I was goin barely 20 mph around a really dull curver (not a shapr curve), and the car has absolutely no stering response..then I was like...oh no the back is gonna come around...and it did, but since I going to slowly I didn't get a chance to swing more than 90 degrees around...but it's fun as hell in an empty parking lot....oh well...back to the topic, tires make a differnece!!

Yea the Re92's suck to say the LEAST..I almost spun 'er around this morning on dry ground. Never give it full throttle while turning (from a stop)...
