Imprezer 12-22-2000, 04:44 AM Where are the fuel lines located that run from the tank to the engine bay? beachbum 12-22-2000, 08:12 AM I think they're inside the cabin and run just under the plastic trim piece that holds the carpet down on the driver's side. Or maybe those aren't fuel lines at all, it's been a while. ------------ Josh Beach World's Slowest Impreza Project ColinL 12-22-2000, 08:18 AM No way in hell there are fuel lines inside the tub! They definitely run under the car, should be a simple matter to trace the feed and return lines from the tank to the fuel filter. rao 12-22-2000, 08:20 AM IIRC, the brake lines are inside of the car. ReyMendez 12-22-2000, 04:00 PM The fuel lines most definitely run INSIDE the car... Lines run from the fuel pump (right side of fuel tank, top, under carpet in trunk) across the back of the car to the driver side, then run along the gravel pad, again, INSIDE the car, and roughly follow the wheel well hump on the inside of the front cabin bulkhead, and padd though the bulkhead near the brake push-rod... There are 3 lines.... They're all black, and of the same size, roughly, 3/8" diameter. One is for the fuel delivery, the second for fuel return (after pressure regulation), and the 3rd is for vaccuum purging the big, heavy charcoal canister, locared behind the right rear tire... look down there, you'll see it. This manner of fuel piping is very safe, much more so than sticking it under the car, where any manner of road debris may peirce lines or whatever... My lines have been replaced with aluminum lines and AN fittings, and they run essentially the same way the stock lines ran... Best place for them!!!@ Hope this helped! Zee RallyKid 12-22-2000, 06:25 PM YUp, don't forget, Subaru takes their rally experiance, and filters it down to street cars. ReyMendez 12-22-2000, 06:57 PM I bought my Imp in July of 98 specifically to rally.... It's turned into the proverbial never enough time/money project, although, it is getting very, very close to being completed... Though it's an Impreza, it's very modified, except for the engine which is still N/A, only mods on that are exhaust and ECU, balance stock. Lot's into suspension, steering and brakes, as well as roll cage, fuel system, and other tid-bits... It handles like you can't believe, which makes up a lot for lower power.... It's a nice car! Joe Hogan 12-22-2000, 08:40 PM The fuel lines run under the carpet and a plastic protector between the drivers seat and door sill. Very well protected. All three fuel lines are there. Joe Hogan ColinL 12-22-2000, 09:50 PM http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif Sorry about that Josh, obviously I was wrong. I am still surprised the lines are in the car and would have though it to be a fire hazard... coming from a mindset where mechanical fuel pressure gauges aren't even allowed in the cockpit. Merry Christmas everyone, I'm outta here for a week or so. I *might* check the board while vacationing, but I doubt it. Aspen 12-23-2000, 12:19 AM Wow!!! ColinL is actually wrong and he admits it!!! Colin, You do know that you are only allowed one f-up per year, right? http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif |
