Hi Duncan,
Candy Red / Red : FMIC Tubing $50, TXS intake $20, Intake Manifold $50. Calipers will or may need a rebuild kit that will up the price - but we can get the kit and coat them as well.

norseone 07-25-2004, 03:10 AM How much to powdercoat a set of rims? How long does it take?
AMSTuning.com 07-25-2004, 10:45 AM If its <18", good condition, with TIRES still on the wheel we charge about $90 per wheel.
If its JUST THE WHEEL with NO TIRE we charge about $70 per wheel.
Thanks
cronic 07-25-2004, 01:04 PM If its <18", good condition, with TIRES still on the wheel we charge about $90 per wheel.
If its JUST THE WHEEL with NO TIRE we charge about $70 per wheel.
Thanks
If i wanted to get a set of 18's done, what is the turnaround time? I am in Ny and if itsnt that bad would just drvie them to MD, and wait for them..
Also the rims have a polished lip, would i be able to keep that? Lastly do you have a gloss black?
AMSTuning.com 07-25-2004, 08:28 PM Cronic,
I understand the look you are going for and that look can be achieved through a wheel-pro-paint process. You are looking at about $320 for a gloss black finish with a lip retainer, 1 day if you are coming down from out of state. Email us or call to schedule an appointment or if you have any more questions.
5spdfrk 07-25-2004, 08:31 PM Well, since I cant come to maryland, i was wandering if you guys know of a good powdercoating shop in the ATL area?

Does that include shipping back to me? And the pro-paint look is $320 total for 4? Like a red lip and black spokes? On a 17" set of wheels.

Hi Norseone.
That would be a very complicated process. I am not sure that its worth spending so much money on a custom paint job that you may easily scratch since its your wheel.
I would rather be honest than upsell you on a job. You are asking for a pretty complicated paint pattern - I don't think you should spend money on a complicated paint scheme like that.
The cost would justify the means if the scheme was fairly simple, silver lip and black spokes, something that is standard. When you get to multiple masking and paint layers you are talking about serious project time.
Thank you for asking the questions,

Wolfen42 07-28-2004, 12:37 PM What would we be looking at for cost on small parts like hood pins?
AMSTuning.com 07-28-2004, 01:17 PM What kind of hoodpins? Sparco type?
Wolfen42 07-28-2004, 03:44 PM What kind of hoodpins? Sparco type?
The kind that are sort of keyhole shaped with the pin captured on top...

AMSTuning.com 08-01-2004, 02:23 AM do you have a wrb powdercoat match? 4 wheels
Best bet would be to pro-paint them and clear coat them. We just did this on a black wrx, came out great.
onyxhunter 08-01-2004, 11:38 AM yeah, i live in jersey so paint isn't an option...
thanx though :D
Maicca 08-03-2004, 11:08 AM Would you have a paint match for Brembo gold? I have a set of STi v7 front calipers that need a paint job badly ;(

AMSTuning.com 08-03-2004, 11:11 AM Yes, posible. We can do it for around $100 or so.

Adrift 03-26-2005, 02:24 PM I was quoted via email by Mike at AMS tuning earlier this week a price of approx 65 dollars per wheel to powdercoat my buddies stock 16" RSX wheels. I called today to confirm that they could take them and I was told my a very rude "Corey" who calls himself the manager (but acts like a child) that they can only powdercoat motorcycle wheels because their oven is too small. I guess none of his employees know anything about this because they are quoting people both in email and above in this thread.
Just FYI, whatever you get a quote from AMS for, call back and get requoted 5 or 6 times cause some people who work there just like to throw random numbers and information out....
razorshades 03-27-2005, 04:17 AM How is a motorcycle wheel that much if any smaller than a car wheel. Maybe he got the extra thin pizza oven to bake in. Did he say they can powder coat bike wheels as in a tricycle, or did he specify extra thin motorcycle wheels only? I figure he got the cheapo Bettye Crocker tryke wheel cooker with the upgraded 50 watt bulb. Thanks for the laugh.
SJwrx 09-07-2005, 11:31 PM 300zx iron calipers that are fully gutted. They need to be masked and receive the magic. cost?
