My A/C died yesterday....it seems like the compressor is not kicking on.

Anyone else experience this problem....it seems like it could be something simple like a fuse, or something a bit more complicated.

The usual cause is a leak in the system that allows some or all of the refrigerant to escape. Once the system pressure drops below a predetermined level, the low-pressure cutout will prevent the compressor from operating, to protect it from damage.
Have a shop put gauges on the AC to check the amount of charge, and inspect the system for any leaks. If you've been doing a lot of highway driving it's possible a rock or other piece of debris has punctured the condenser as it is in a vulnerable spot up front. Also if you happen to have a larger than stock TMIC, these are sometimes known to rub against the AC line and eventually cause a leak.
