Yesterday mornin' when I started my car for work, the crank sound felt weak when it was cranking, but the car started after three cranks as usual. While I was at work and went back to the car and started it after an hour, the car felt weak again. Fifteen minutes, I park again, and restart it after another few minutes, and the damn thing wouldn't turn over. I got really freaked out and was about to call for a jump start, but I went and cranked the car up again to make sure and this time, it managed to start again (barely).

Today in the morn. I started the car up again, it felt funny again as it cranked, so I decided to leave the damn car on during all my travels in case I won't be able to start it up again. I was now thinking it may of been teh battery so I went to Kragen and got a new one since its been over four years (even though mine is still rated at full charge). After I replaced the battery, the damn thing wouldn't start at all!!! So the Kragen folks helped me clutch start the car so I could get home. I managed to swap out my starter (from a MY99) and put in my old MY93. The car started fine, and I shut it off, and restarted and it cranked hard and even overspun after starting (might be an old starter symptom is my guess). Well... don't mean to write a freekin' essay, but would there be any other general problems that can lead to such a bugger?

Bad connection which was fixed when you hooked up the new starter. Or, yes, your old starter may be weak. Take it to the parts store and have it tested.

the connections seemed to be well tight when I removed the faulty starter, but yeah.. I should take the bad starter to a parts store to see...

would u here a "clicking" sound when u'd turn the key when it would just crank? might be just worn starter contacts...
