Greg, My understanding is that the track pipe also eliminates one of the cats. The intermediate pipe is a cat-back pipe. Ask Trey at Cobb Tuning, he's got em.

Yeah the track-pipe replaces one of the cats. However the last I was told the track-pipe is for the MY98 RS only as they have a different cat-pipe than the MY99-00

But yeah ask Trey he will know the full skinny.

correct me if i'm wrong but i believe the 98's have the o2 sensor at the first cat allowing the 2nd cat to be replaced. But in 99 and 00 the sensor is at the second cat forcing us to keep it on.

I've got an MY98 with a sensor on the rearmost cat.....figure that one out?!?!?!

And now I've got a Stromung Track Pipe that won't get installed!!

Got any suggestions???

I think my 98 has a sensor on the second cat too. Is it possible to drill a hole in the pipe to fit the sensor?

You can take that track pipe to almost any performance shop and have them weld in a "bung" to accept the O2 sensor. At my shop we do alot of custom turbo work and were constantly welding in bungs to accept EGT sensors. The only problem is that your still going to get a check engine light because the sensor is going to read the not so clean exhaust.

Sorry to revisit this post but, I still haven't installed this pipe.

Now, I've heard some members have installed this pipe, and the CE light didn't come on..and they even passed emissions!

Does anyone have anything to add before I go and spend cash to have this installed?

And if I do install this thing and the CE light comes on, will the light go off if I reinstall my original pipe?

Ok, so it's installed now....

I know I'm supposed to expect some low end loss, but I must admit that I feel the car pulling nice and hard all the way to about 5000. No CE light (yet) and it's been on for two days. My first impressions are that the combo of STI exhaust and the Stromung track pipe yields excellent results. I'm happy, now I just have to get my Rallispec intake, and I think I'll be satisfied with the power. Then it's on to suspension and brakes. uh oh?!?!?! $$$$$$
