Hi all, I got my APS short ram intake installed today by GRD - Naperville IL. The Intake is very good, I notice a little difference on the throttle, and you can hear the turbo spooking - (woosing sound -very cool). According to them by installing that short ram intake, I probably gained about 4HP. Which is not good, and not bad either. I'm a daily driver so it's fine for me. I've searched and read reviews and compared between CAI and Short ram and decided to go with the Short Ram. I guess it's just what your preference are, or what you really want to do with your car. So if you guys are thinking about changing your intake, I highly recommend the APS short ram intake.

see, this is what i've been saying that people simply repeat what they see on the subject w/o anything to back themselves up. I don't know if you have tried it yourself or not, but I have, and I honestly don't think it's hurting any performance or doing any harm to the WRX at all. All it appears is that it doesn't seem to be as cost effective to some other upgrades like a catless uppipe, per say.

If you wanna make a claim, back yourself up with something... don't just keep saying "pulley is bad", "intake is bad", "get xxx brand it's good". :disco:

Will you noobs knock it off already. :furious:

Not all intakes are bad as long as they retain the same internal diamter as the stock piping. These include the APS, TXS, and Perrin units. While they may not provide great gains as on other cars, in some cases, they are needed, i.e. FMIC.

This is one of the funniest sentences I have ever heard. Maybe aftermarket on a stock wrx = bad ...

On a highly modified wrx, stage 3 -4, with engine management, I highly doubt an aftermarket will perform badly. As long as there is engine management to tell the car how much air / fuel to take in.

i have the APS CAI and love it.

some intakes are just fine, and APS is definately a company that has done their homework.

serious right! wrx's might not be intake friendly...But a intake with a protune..pending on your tuner and dyno you should see more than 4 hp gains from a intake...our engines cant run right without a tune if you mod your vehicle.im 282whp on vf43 setup..reason being is because my stock box is maxed out and my tuner cant take anymore air from it...he promises me 15-20 more whp if i get a intake and tune....READ CAREFULLY.. **INTAKE + TUNE*.
