well its about time i change the spark plugs, i just wanted everyones opinion as to which route is worth it. thanks everyone.

As long as you are capable, do it yourself.

I do it myself. . not too difficult with the right tools. Took me 2.5 hours without the right tools. . .then I learned and got the right tools. I can do them in about 45 minutes to an hour now.

Plus who wants to gamble on the "work" of an "unknown" mechanic.

That applies to most of the maintenance work.

Brakes, spark plugs, filters, wheel rotations, and all fluid changes are easy.

That's exactly the reason why the dealer nor anyone else for that matter has ever seen my car for maintenance. The only 2 times the dealer has touched my car was when I bought it and when I went in for the CC recall. :)

It's easy, yet serious. Kind of like an oil change. Do-it-yourself.
