Has anyone found a lower temp fan switch out there for the WRX??

There is no such thing. The ECU uses the information from the coolant temperature sensor to determine when to turn the fans on and off, there is no separate switch or sensor just for the fans.

Hks makes a fan controller that will turn on the fans at whatever temp you set it at. It is a universal item not specifically made for the wrx.

What is the reason you want to do this?
The ECU has specific programming for the fan logic and it's not a good idea to try and override it. If you do a CEL may result. Also the fan system isn't a simple on/off one, there are two fans each with a high and low speed.

It is capable of controlling two fans. I imagine he would want to do something like this to take advantage of a cooler thermostat or something like that. Being cooler won't make more power, but it would make the engine less prone to detonation. At least in theory. As far as getting a cel, who knows? At 145 bux it has nice features as a temp gauge, albeit an expensive one. If I have a few extra dollars tothrow around, I might experiment with it.
