View Full Version : In the dealership the other day...

So I stopped at one of the local Subaru dealers the other day. I was expecting to test drive a 02 WRX 5spd.

Walking into the dealership I was instantly greeted by a very anxious sales woman who said in a perky-uppity voice "Hello, Can I help you today" (or some such variation.)

Briefly making eye contact and throwing her a smile I walked through the door and said..

"Yes, where's the mens room?"

heh. The look on her face was priceless. I think it was the *last* thing she expected to hear from a customer walking in.

Well, I had just eaten lunch.

BTW: Didn't get to test drive, the CE light was on and they didn't want to run the car so I left and told them to call me when they fixed it. They agreed to drive the car out to my place at work next week and let me test drive it there. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

Off to the next dealer...

Hehe! I wish I could have seen her expression... That's one of those things I wish I would think of at the right moment.

i think the last thing someone would expect to hear would be something like "pika.. pika.. pika-chu!"

i know, has nothing to do with anything.. i just think im funny http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

good story though, and g/l with the search.

I'll do it. I have yet to find a blue standard WRX on the lot.

Speaking of, are there any drawbacks to ordering a wrx as opposed to getting it off of the lot, other than the wait?

Thanks guys.

I'm guessing the CE light was on from not clicking the gas cap super tight after they filled it up - there is a warning sticker right inside the lid. It happened to me on my first fill up (scared the s$%t out of me). Seems the WRX has a pretty sensitive emission system and it thinks it has a fuel leak.

Oh, I'm not counting on finding one on the lot to drive or buy. In fact the one I went to test drive was a 5spd in Aspen White (is that the right 'white'?)

As long as the car is a 5spd 02 WRX with the 16" wheels I'm happy to test drive it. I don't think driving the automatic will give me the same impressions so I haven't even bothered.

I'm also in no hurry to buy. It will happen, it's just a question of when it will happen. In the mean time my 96 Talon is paid off and I can just stash money away for all the upgrades I want and won't let the dealer do. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

So, I just need to test drive it, then go to all 5 dealers within an hour of me until one gives me a price I feel good about. (aka not -$50 under MSRP!).

Hell, if things go really bad then there's always the next model year... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif
