Just a thought, and this is going to require a real guru to answer.....
Would it be possible to modify the gauge cluster such that one of the two trip odometers would display the current boost pressure?
Seems like it should just be an output off of the data bus somewhere and you'd just have to run the signal through something that could be sent to the seven-segment display in the cluster.
Just curious.

someone did something like that with the clock for the Forester XT (even incorporated a intercooler sprayer - pretty slick) - the problem with a digital gauge for something like boost pressure is that it changes so fast, it's hard to glance down at a digital gauge and see what's going on - you really want some sort of analog display (either the traditional sweeping needle gauge, or something like a bar graph)

Yeah, I know the dynamic nature of boost wouldn't make a digital readout as useful as an analog gauge, but it would be better than nothing.
I'm not crazy about any of the gauge mounting options (and I've gone through the entire two-year long thread showing everyone's solutions) and a simple digital readout would be an elegant solution.
I like the idea of using the clock display as well. That might actually be easier.

Ever consider the PSI3 data monitor? http://www.quantum-racing.com/cgi-bin/ws20/ws20_031211/main/browse.cgi?final_pick=y&cust_cat=New+Age+WRX+and+STi@@@Ignition+and+Engine +Management&cust_cat_max=21&in_store=&cust_id=&cust_cat_index=9&pick_flag=y&setup_value=1&cleanup=n&item_id=32
I've been looking to get one. It's expensive but it pulls info from the OBD2 port and gives you alot of info. Can get a single DIN mount or a pod mount where the clock goes.

That would be my dream unit, but at 600-700 bucks, it costs a pretty penny. Honestly, I would be happy giving someone 200-300 bucks to make something similar that fit in a single DIN slot like that that just showed what the boost pressure was, and had a clock. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I bet modding even the trip meter would be illegal.

Well...I'm assuming the trip meter is part of the whole gauge cluster, so you wouldn't be able to mess with it.
My thought was you'd have to hijack the signal going to the display and replace it with the boost pressure signal. And as per my usual philosophy...it would be something you could put back to stock if you wanted.
