OK, so a few questions from a Nationals newbie.
1. Suggestions on where to stay? Does the Subaru crowd usually all stay at a single hotel?

2. I suddenly realized (while mowing the lawn, of all things) that I forgot to budget properly for the ProSolo season and the National Championships. I had counted the cost of ProSolo licenses, event entry fees, hotel rooms, time off work, and food. Gas isn't that big of a deal when we drive to the event, but since we might be trailering to Topeka, I'll have to count that too. I'd counted which "go-fast" parts needed to be added to get the car remotely to STX preparation level. HOWEVER. I seem to have forgotten to budget for one of the most expensive (and important) items!!

How much does "ice cream" cost at the Hugger and Baby Dolls??

And out of curiosity, does everyone at Nationals refer to Baby Dolls trips as "ice cream" or is that just what the folks here in Akron (Ohio) call it?

Many times, you stay with people from your region, or class from your region.. etc.

The past few years, I've stayed with teh ST guys from New England at Candlewood Suites. Kitchenette, and broadband. This way, if you want to, food can be done at a budget and you have a fridge for beer. :D

Hotels: Wherever Priceline puts you!

There actually is an ice cream place in Topeka that all the autocrossers tend to go to. Completely unrelated to Baby Dolls (except that they go there, too :p ).

Ice Cream = Maggie Moo's $12-15 for the both of you (per night)
"Ice Cream"= Baby Dolls......$$$ depends on your opinion of the local scenery. Expect at least one gratuitory lapdance provided by Mr. "Dad" Hearne.....

I think the term stuck after kidnapping the Mr./Mrs. Eston under the guise of getting Ice Cream. They both had a great time and the term just kinda became associated with it when used with hand gestures for quotes.

Ice Cream = Maggie Moo's
Ah, yes, that's the name of the place I was thinking of. I could only remember that it was somehow related to a cow...

As for lap dances, I don't know how much they cost, you'll have to ask Mike King about that.

Ahhhhhhh. OK, thank you for clearing that up, Jay. It's been confusing me. :) (Well, as you probably realize, that doesn't take much!! :D )

There's alot of hotels that are no-no's....pretty much anything down SW Topeka Blvd is to be missed, except for the Capitol Suites(?)/Conference Center. That was my choice last time at Nats two years ago...very nice, posh...and you walk to all of the banquets and talent show. If not there, I'd stay somewhere on Wannamaker Rd. Residence Inn, Candlewood Suites, Sleep Inn and Suites, trying to remember the rest....don't stay at the Hampton Inn off of Wannamaker..had that sucky experience during the Pro. Other than that...that's all I can remember right now.

Suddenly, I have this craving for ice cream...

i stay at the Minister of Speed's residence and take care of his cats while he's in off getting the Runoffs ready :D free place to stay, yay!

Baby Dolls is $10/song for a lap dance. you can toss bills on stage of course, but that's really not the focus of it. the talent is mediocore for the most part. $5 cover.

now, the Hugger makes going to Peru worthwhile :D same price per lap dance as BD's, but $3 at the door. of course, the rules there are, um, the most lienent of any strip club i've been to. good times will be had ;) talent is about what you'd expect from a sprawling metropolis like kokomo, but there are a few very hot ladies there. i'm pretty sure that i drove like such crap at the Tour because i neglected the Hugger. i won't make the same mistake for the Pro :disco:

I've ahem "heard" from ahem "someone" that a bunch of the girls at the Hugger come all over to "entertain" there, since they take a very low cut.

The lap dances are definetly "lienent", I can't wait for Midnight_Gold to go  Plus you get the MOST EVER out of you $1 that you bring to the stage.

We lost brian hertweck last year, when after 2 pitchers he got like 15 dances in a row

you know, i've hung around lots of different racers, and they all like teh titty bars  hell, when i crew at the track, saturday night we all usually get liquored up and head to one of the fine establishments that East St. Louis has to offer :) i mean, the majority of road race cars in stl are stored in the same building as the best strip club :D coincidence? i think not!

travelling to auto-x's is mostly an excuse to go to different strip clubs ;)

On the subject of things to do...Harrahs has a new hotel and casino about 15 minutes north of Topeka. We went during the Topeka Pro and had an awesome buffet and played the slots...everyone was too poor for anything else, but this year...time to play some poker. Nice place though...if it wasn't so far out of town, I'd stay there.

Shiiiiit. Miranda's going for sure. She sure as hell won't be the DD. Ask us this weekend about last time we all got a DD for the pony and how everyone's experience was ;)
