I just read about these in Sport Compact Car or some other magazine -- it looks like they're a relatively new tire from BFGoodrich designed to compete in the summer performance budget tire class along with the

Yokohama AVS ES100s ($82)
Khumo Ecsta Supra 712 ($62)
Avon Tech M500 ($80)
Falken Fk-451 ($71)
Bridgestone Fuzion ZRi ($73)

and for $81 for a 205/55-16 tire (the price listed for the others), they're not at a bad price either. Apparently it's trickle down technology from the T/A KDW and KD tires. Does anyone have any idea how these tires will do compared to the others?

Since they are VERY new, I think a 3-6 month wait will get you lotsa answers...

The ES100's and the 712 are good for fires, and boat fenders....

we tested them last week ...... I only drove them on the track in the wet ..... man they were NOT good ... I think it is the first time the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 has won a test

...embarassing. :D Thanks for the heads up though, Luke! I was hoping for good things but I guess not enough technology trickled down.

BTW, have you guys tested that Fuzion tire yet?

I actually have a set of them on my car right now. They are 225/45/17s on a set of rota torques. You know they're not too bad of tires. Prior to these I had a set of Falken Azenis sports so you'll have to understand if I feel a little let down. Compared to the falkens these tires just don't hold as well and they are a lot nosier (under cornering). All in all they aren't bad tires, and for the price and treadwear rating they were worth a shot If you have any specific questions about ride, etc I can try to answer for you :)

Oh, as for road noise, they are QUIET, i mean VERY QUIET compared to the falkens.
