I'm not too happy right now.

Recheck that uppipe stud. You may have loosened the whole stud and not just the nut when taking the turbo off, but I think it is the stud next to this one that gets loosened. Can't hurt to check. Just sandwich two nuts together on the stud and tighten it down to see if it will sit lower in the uppipe. Alternatively, when I installed an APS uppipe on my 03 WRX, I had to flip the stud so the shorter threaded side was up and then it cleared the downpipe. Easy fix is to grind on the downpipe, but I'd use that as a last resort.

I've never touched the up-pipe and the stud was in the same place on another STi.

But I fixed it...just ground it down. Posted pics on that link.

I grounded my B&B downpipe too, no biggie. ;)

It is a biggie....it was supposed to be a finished, tested product. I "needed" to get their down-pipe to run their Stage 2. The down-pipe I had not one problem with and that fit properly wasn't good enough.

$425 for the pipe

$65 for shipping to Hawaii

$50 for a grinder

I could have used this money on a aftermarket cat-back, to finish my stage 2.

Too late to recommend Godspeed, but I sure do like mine.

Who told you that you needed thier downpipe to run stage 2?

This is to bad, but others (APS and Godspeed come to mind) have had quality issues in the past, some (Godspeed) were good about admiting and correcting the problems while others (APS) were not so hot.

Just curious did you get or are you getting an AP as well?

Yep I have an AP.

Cobb said I need their down-pipe but could run any cat-back I'd like....to run their Stage 2 reflash. They said something about the way their dp flows...blah...blah.

Yeah, that was blah blah blah BS, I am willing to bet that after swapping DP's you were like "Well this feels.....about the same". Who ever told you that needs to get fired, I really hope it wasn't Trey. One dingus that worked there a while ago tried to feed me some crap like that one time when I was buying a set of cams. I just called back later as asked for Trey, he didn't seem to happy about what one of his cronies had told me, and agreed that he was incorrect.

So how do you like the AP.

I like it...once I get a cat-back and I'm really running a Cobb Stage 2. I will be able give a full report.

We don't have an AWD dyno in hawaii so we really can only go by 1/4 times to see if something worked/did what it was supposed to do.

I've run a best of 13.0 @103MPH w/ just a TBE (PDE down-pipe and RS*R GT2 cat-back)

So I hope to run around a 12.8 w/ the Cobb Stage 2. (AP reflash stage 2, Cobb down-pipe and a "yet to be" bought cat-back)

if your gonna stay cobb stage 2 with oem turbo, why not spend 189 bucks on an hks downpipe and buy a nice catback exhaust with the money you saved??? unless you are upgrading the turbo a downpipe is a downpipe is a downpipe...
