WOW! :eek: :eek: i had a friggin blast! and i didn't even spin it! though a couple times i wasn't really sure i was going to be able to catch it... one problem though. 3300lbs of car and driver won't go around a corner at the same speed as 2400lbs of car and driver. :lol: tire temperatures were in the 150-155 degree range. friggin' melting off the wheel practically. i wasn't very freindly to the tires at all. besides making it push really bad in the sweepers, i was also beating up the inside front coming off every corner. the awd made the car accelerate so well i didn't really conciously realize the inside front was doing it's best top fuel dragster impression. :o
the latest changes the old man made to the grocery getter really have that thing dancing. slaloms are exciting to say the least. i thought i was driving the honda it transitioned so well. once i figured out the corner entry speed thing, 98% of the push went away. the other thing i had to learn was that the maintain speed throttle position "changes" in a turbo car as the boost comes on. that was a bit frustrating at first. :mad: then i learned to trail brake the monster. :D get that beast planted and settled, roll on the throttle real smooth like, and she carves such to make daddio proud.
the brakes. can you really talk about something that isn't REALLY there? you mash the middle pedal in the civic and it's like you tossed out an anchor. drop an anvil on the "gently slow my vehicle" pedal in the WRX and............................................... .................................................. .................................................. ...... now we start slowing down. :furious: i never did run into the "ice mode of death" though. maybe it's an re-92 phenom?
i guess i really shouldn't complain too badly about the brakes though. unfortunately, when the rest of the car works so damn marvelously that one bad thing really sticks out. it's like a hot chick with bad teeth. it definitely doesn't seem to hurt times though.
oh yeah, speaking of times...
"bastard" :devil:
ps. keith, the direction we went with the shocks in the afternoon will actually improve corner exit rotation provided you unwind the wheel early. that's probably were a little bit of time came from. that and the gas that had a better then 84 octane rating.
