So, we have a 96 Impreza Rally Car running 40mm DMS Suspension. I own an '04 STi and would like to use the wheels on the rally car for a few solo events. Problem is, when I put on the STi wheels I only have a few milimeters of space between the tire and the strut/spring assembly. So the question is, do they make wheel spacers and can I sensibly use them on the car to get a little more clearance? Is there anybody else that's run across this and what have you done?
Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks,
Keith

A few milimeters is more than enough. Don't worry about it.

My dad just put on spacers on his TS wagon. He got the H&R 10mm(5mm on each wheel) spacers on the front. Better turn in, and less understeer.

We run wheel spacers when needed on our rally cars.
No problems @ all.

Can you run them without installing longer studs?

i run 3mm wheel spacers on my OE/PGT WRX
no aftermarket hubs/studs... etc...
works fine.
would not recommend anything larger than 3mm!!!

What he said. Last year I could barely stuff a credit card between my tire and strut. No rubbing issues.

Thanks Jamie. You wouldn't happen to have a good source I could get those from would you?

BTW, that should be 50mm DMS we're running, not 40mm ;)
