Just read this in another forum on here, what do you guys think?

(QUOTE FROM OTHER FORUM)
"I talked to COBB on the phone and they said to take it easy for the first few days while the ECU learns your driving habits to get optimal performance from their flashes. They told me if you jump on the throttle too much in the beginning the ECU will readjust itself to more conservative setup."
(END QUOTE)

I was under the impression it was the opposite? Why wouldn't they make this info more available if it was true...

Could be true. If it knocks too much the timing will be pulled back to reduce it, and if you hammer it before it's learned, it could cause more knock. I could be wrong though.

Yes it does sound correct....as a matter of fact it applies to most tunes....

The reason being.....U want your ecu to advance your timing and by being conservative you are doing just that. If you jump on it right away...the car will probably detect knock and learn to retard timing....

right after a reset your ecu will learn the quickest, once the fine ignition tuning has learned a while, it will take longer to adjust the course ignition tuning...

Ok, so lets assume this is true...

If I have reflashed with the AP to stage 1 and have driven hard for a couple days, and my car seems fine and is hitting the propper boost, should I consider reflashing it and driving it a bit more conservitively? Or will it not matter?

It really won't matter much.....Your car will continue learning no matter what....Things will change dramatically between temperature changes, gas quality and your driving style....

The car will be fast some days and slower on others....there is not much U can do to change that. U can however increase fuel quality and U will notice less of a change between ambient temperature extremes. Also one of the factors that seems to make a large change in timing (power) is intake temperatures. Things that will affect intake temperatures are, Heat soak (stopped at a light for a while), Aftermarket intake or stock intake. The reason why our subarus are able to achieve large power figures for such a small engine is due to the changeability of our ECU...without it we would have to run lower power outputs to stay safe.
