I have the default values for knock correction parameters which is supposed to retard 2deg for every knock count I believe. When I see a 1-count knock event in the log the timing is pulled back 10 degrees... what's up with that?

The utec logs are only samples of what the utec is doing every 1/5th of a second. The utec could have "heard" another detonation event and at a higher "count" so it retarded more and the logs just didnt pick it up.

The UTEC retards 2 degrees for every crank cycle it detects knock until knock is no longer detected or it reaches the maximum retarded timing allowed.

Pete, in the US, we don't call it "retarded" timing - it's "exceptional" timing. Please be more sensitive to your less advanced  sparkplugs.

P.S. I'm really sorry about this - too much work this week... ;)
