Hey all,
I received my WRXtra oil sandwich adapter and just wanted to express my opinions on it.
Packaging:
I received the adaptor a few days after I ordered it though their website. It was packed in a padded envelope and was protected well during shipment. The small pieces were packed in small zip lock bags which kept everything secure.
Product:
The adapter is made of solid aluminum and is powder-coated on the outside. The places where the oil passes through are clean and does not have any coating on it (very good thing). The machining job is precise and immaculate. The bolt that is used to attach the adapter to the original filter mounting position is machined out of a solid piece of steel (seems very strong). The Viton o-ring is also very thick and is embedded in to the adapter and is very secure (don't know how they mounted it, but it works). The best part of this whole adapter is the fact that the sender mounting holes are 1/8" npt (good for domestic gauges) which makes thread adapters obsolete.
Overall:
This product is very well made and I would recommend it to anyone that is thinking of putting Autometer (or any gauge that uses 1/8" npt threads) gauges in their car. The only downfall I can see is the fact that the adapter lowers the oil filter by an inch or so. This didn't effect me at all due to the fact that I have an RS (no factory oil cooler).
Hope this was helpful
