Impret-za

Just bought a 1995 Impreza L AWD and I want to get familiar w/ the engine (boxers are new to me). I know that Haynes doesn't make an Impreza manual, Chilton does but its for all Subarus and it sucks.
I know, I know... invest in the Factory manuals... but $700!! jeez.
Is there any other manual out there that has bolt/nut torque specs, wiring diagrams and such at a more reasonable price? Maybe a site that posts stuff like that?

Yeah the Shop manuals are a pain in the butt to get aswell. I was talking to the guy in the parts department and he said that you had to buy the first shop manual from like a 93 and then buy all of the updates for the car up till your year. if it cost you 700 for a 95 I'ld hate to see it for my '01. I guess that if it was all sectioned with updates then you should be able to buy just a wiring diagram them.
Try E-bay I saw one for a 94 not too long ago

I believe Subaru quit doing the updated shop manual thing for the 2001 impreza. I may be wrong, but I just checked with Subaru dealer not too long ago and the parts guy told me the same story for my 98, off the cuff he said you could get the manual for the 2000 and up models singly. It's 68 bucks for the engine and power train manual. All older Impreza owners are out of luck.
