i have a 95 1.8 impreza that i believe has the OBD I system. on occasion the car doesn't want to start and while i'm trying to get it to turn over the check engine light will come on. how can i find out what code it is throwing

AutoZone is known to pull the code for free

or you can have any Subaru dealership pull the code for you - for a fee

If it's OBD1, you can pull the codes yourself. Autozone won't be able to.

If by chance it's OBD2, take jamie's advice and go to autozone.
