So I bought a Stromung Axle-Back Exhaust for my MY00 Legacy Sedan (2.5 liter)

Ive never had an exhaust before, currently running on stock.

One of the sounds which I REALLY like is the exhaust note of the STi. How similar would this exhaust sound? Regardless, im gonna keep it, and then later on buy a center/mid pipe for it, to complete it to an axle-back. But in the mean time while waiting for it to come, I was just curious how it compares to that nice "WRX and STi Boxer engine sound".

All I know is that they possess the similar notes, but they are different in their own ways.

The N/A is a lot louder than turbo, due to the fact of sans piping (also how the piping is routed) whereas forced induction runs a few more pieces therefore supressing the sound and noticibly accents the "rumble".

My personal opinion is that the N/A has more pronounced sound while the turbos do similar only it seems like they are running on 3 cylinders.

get a set of headers and a mid pipe and you should be close. If it still isn't to your liking get a track pipe/high flow cat. Then it'll definately sound very boxerish.
