For the past couple of weeks, I've noticed a very subtle squealing sound coming from my right front tire that made noise w/ the rotation of the wheel. I really didn't think anything of it b/c you could barely hear it.

So, today, I go to work and as I'm turning into my parking space, I turn the wheel all the way to the left and hear a couple of clicks. I knew it didnt' sound good, but figured this might of happened since I turned the wheel all the way. As I leave work, I pull out of my parking space and as I turn the wheel to straighten out, I hear several relatively loud clicks.

Well, I drive home and it seems that it makes a very light noise when the wheel is straight. Clicks a little when I turn right and is really loud when I turn left.

Could this be a bad CV joint? Something else?
How much is it usually to replace a CV joint if that is the case?

Thanks for any help!

turn wheel to the left drive forward...

click click click?

now leave it turned and put the car in reverse

click click click?

if so...
very likely a bad axle/1/2 shaft :(

if you do not fit it, it will worsen until the axle snaps...
leaving the car undrivable.

you can purchase remanufactured axles from Napa Autoparts with a lifetime warranty at quite a reasonable price
