I just went down the Renick Subaru (Fullerton Ca.) and picked up the GFB Stealth FX BOV. :) I tried to do my homework and get a BOV that sounded good and was fuctional. So far I am very impressed with the craftmanship and performance of it. I can adjust it from nearly sounding like an RFL BOV  to sounding stock  . It' pricy (289.99) but I think it's worth the extra 20-60 bucks ( depending on what you like turboxs, turbosmart etc.) just to have a versatile BOV that you can change to fit your style.

if you get tired of the sound, they make another horn for it, doesnt change it much with normal driving, but at WOT and the BOV wide open sounds like a laser shot. I think auwrx on I club carries them or contact brett at GFB himself.

i love mine... i have it set to just barely audible unless its at WOT. helps alot with running rich and driveability issues, but its there if i need to let someone know they cut me off :-)

I have had my Stealth for over 3 years now & it has been great...

Until, just today the wife says "can you adjust it for more noise"?

Me being the nice guy I am I dial it from 70%rec/30%atmo to 50/50.
I was leaving a stop light on the edge of town & gave it a little. When I dropped into 2nd gear all of the sudden I'm getting a continus woosh & lack of boost.
After pulling over & stopping I find a plastic ring wedged in the horn & jamming the BOV open.

I pulled the plastic ring out & the BOV closed.
I have never rebuilt the BOV, but it needs it now.
The BOV plunger seats on the plastic ring & the ring is seated in the base of the BOV.
The Stealth seems to be sealing fine with out it, but the brass plunger is banging on the aluminum base. This can't be good.
I've put the stock BOV back on for now until I rebuild the Stealth.

I always have loved the adjustability of it & have no complaints other wise.
I also stay at very stockish boost levels so I am unsure if its true that they are prone to leaking.
I can see how it could develope a minor leak if the plunger doesn't seat properly.

I just got this back today, talk about service!!!
Very nice...
+1 for GFB

If you send me your address, I will pop a new seal in the post for you, and I will email you disassembly instructions. They do not cover installing the seal into the valve cylinder, but I can go over that with you. If you run into problems, you can contact me or simply post the valve back to us for repair – it will only cost you the return postage.

Nice to see. I can handle extra dough for something as long as I get decent service.

Just put one in on my 05' sti. Started off at 50/50 with major idle prob/backfire. Just kept clicking down until the backfiring stopped. I'm 3 clicks open and set to hard with no problems. It's as loud as my buddies Blitz DD barely open. Can't get the horn on d/t the stock bolt being to big to clear the horn. Need to find 10mm bolt with a smaller head.Looks good, sounds great and i picked it up from another member for only 150.00... can beat that.

Update:
After doing some tinkering & between BOV's I found I was loosing boost with the Stealth on using my original IC gasket from 2002.
I bought a new gasket & it helped A LOT.
There was still a little leak & some soapy water proved it.
I e-mailed GFB & they responded in a day & let me know that the pic I had sent of by BOV indicated it was an older design & they changed the base slightly to take an o-ring & no gasket is used any more.

They did say that a small bead of RTV work great as a gasket, & they had done that before in R&D testing.

I'm corosponding with them in trying to get the updated base retainer with o-ring. (depending on cost)

BOV disassembly is a little more complicated than I would have thought, but isn't bad. It hasn't been cleaned or greased scince new in 2003.
I just finaly broke it down, cleaned it, & regreased it last week.
It still is working great otherwise.

i dont have any experience with their BOVs, but I have their short shifter and GFB has amazing service. Brett sent me replacement parts for the shifter NO CHARGE from Australia. Now thats what I call service.

I have a Stealth Fx on my 90 Talon, belive it or not its the one meant for the Skyline. It sounds great and the quality of it is top notch. This was enough reason for me to order another one for my 05 Sti.

Any specific grease you you in the BOV? I have a stealth FX and I love it also, I usually keep it closed, but I can open it if I want to, which is why I love it.....
