View Full Version : Wine Country Fun Run w/loot.
SFsube 10-04-2000, 11:32 AM I have some left over loot from the Track Day that arrived too late to distribute. Nothing crazy, the trunk mat probably adds 230HP http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif
I'm thinking of meeting in Healdsburg, and running Skaggs Springs Road to the coast around Seafeathers and then south on the coast. It will be a stunning drive. TRUST ME! We can take pix and eat along the way, and raffle the loot out.
We seem to always meet at a mall "over there" in the East Bay. Let's meet north-bay-style and run our cars on the twisties!
I'm thinking Oct. 14th-15th
Bueller?

andyC 10-04-2000, 11:36 AM OH YEAH!!! That is even not too far from me! I have a friend from that area who was telling me about some really great dirt roads that go up and over the hills out to the ocean.
Count me IN!

Matt Monson 10-04-2000, 12:05 PM Angus,
What about kicking down some loot for the individuals( myself and Brucelee) who paid for track slots and didn't get to go?
Joel Gat, 1.8L 10-04-2000, 12:10 PM Hello,
Damn, do it the weekend after. I have the patent bar on Oct. 18 so I'm gonna be studying that weekend. Of course, I'll likely be drunk the next weekend http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif
Joel
deepbeep 10-04-2000, 12:33 PM would that include that Cobb throttle body that Mr. Crawford still covets? http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/tongue.gif
Just gimme one of those R/C kits and I'll be happy too http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif
HomerJay 10-04-2000, 12:47 PM Hey Angus, I sent you e-mail a little while back, did you ever get it? Anyways, did you work crush this year? Just wondering. I'm down for a Skaggs Spring Road, I love that road, Hwy 128 is pretty fun also.
-Joe
Saw Jai 10-04-2000, 12:48 PM Count me in Angus! ^_^

angus
Necromancer 10-04-2000, 02:33 PM Great idea Angus, either weekend is good for me. Please make it a Sunday so my g/f can come too.
Cheers,
Joe
ndmorespd 10-04-2000, 03:40 PM Angus,
Sounds great, but alas odds are against me... How about a run up to Lake Tahoe instead??? Something OTHER than the coast??? Yes I know T-Hill was inland...
Anyway I'll have to follow along and hope... Whats the list of avalable goodies... I hate to sound gready but a raffle for those who paid (show or no show) might be a little more humain, the items were supposed to be for the event... Holding another event not as easily accessable seems a little off track...
Just Ideas...

deepbeep 10-04-2000, 04:50 PM I'm down for a Fun Run thru the vineyards, along the coast, or over the mountains... just lemme at it!
SFsube 10-04-2000, 04:56 PM A little more humane? I'd hate to think any of my ideas were inhumane http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif
Yeah, getting paid track day folks loot is important, I agree.
I'll figure it out.
angus
bri99RS 10-04-2000, 05:13 PM cool, i'd like to join. the work run kinda threw me off, i was thinking running as in legs, not driving.
Brian
Joe Longworth 10-04-2000, 05:27 PM Well piss and vinegar - I'm going to be in, of all places, utah for about two weeks starting that weekend.
Wot're the odds that those of who can't make it out still get entered into the raffle?
SFsube 10-04-2000, 05:35 PM I'm just going to give the stuff to paid track participants chosen at random. forget the association with the fun run.
Good lord, nothing's easy...
angus
ndmorespd 10-04-2000, 05:53 PM Angus,
You know better than to think things are easy... Hell look at T-Hill... At least the end result was more than worth the work before right?
Is a drive to Tahoe even a decent feasable (sp?) idea to anyone??? When I had my MR2 they would make Valley runs and pick-up more people the further they went...
Idea:
1) Start in San Fran (if there are enough people to want to start there)...
2) Drive to the East Bay somewhere and meet up with more "Followers"
3-10?) Drive whereever and get more "followers"
11) Cruise into Tahoe (or some other place for say lunch???)
12-End) Cruise home and drop "Followers" as the drive goes...
Or even better yet EVERYONE come out to the Sacramento Chapter's (SCCA) "Enduro" (http://www.sfrscca.org/solo2/Sacramento/Enduro2000.htm) $25 entry for non members, $20 for members... According to the web-page this pays for both days... and the top three in each class get trophies!
Just tossing Ideas...

Necromancer 10-05-2000, 11:55 AM Ndmorespd: you are a lot closer to Napa than those of us in the South Bay, dude! Saw Jai and I are planning to come, which is a good 3 hour drive from here...
OTOH, heck, another excuse to go to the Inside Track .... hmmmm
Damn why can't we have a South Bay run one of these days? Oh yeah, because it's crowded, hot, ugly, and boring down here.
ndmorespd 10-05-2000, 12:32 PM Necro?
Say what???
San Jose, CA - Napa, CA - 80.3 miles 1 hours 45 mins
North Highlands, CA - Napa, CA - 68.8 miles 1 hours 30 mins
12 miles difference... Ok so you live further than SJ... How about Los Gatos?
Los Gatos, CA - Napa, CA - 88.8 miles 1 hours 51 mins
20 miles difference... Or we can look for through the city routes...
Portola Valley, CA - Napa, CA - 80.5 miles 1 hours 48 mins
Not really all that different... add in going to the coast and it gets longer for the valley than the Bay area real quick...
(All in fun Necro... bored at work...)
Mike
andyC 10-05-2000, 12:36 PM Okay, so it takes me about an hour and 15 minutes to get to Fremont form Santa Rosa, well basically, and that is pretty much driving about 70-75. From my place to Healdsburg is about 20 minutes depending on traffic, so really it shouldn't take you lead-footed-subie-heads too long to get there at all!
Bored Andy
christoph1371 10-05-2000, 02:29 PM well, i'd be in, but unless it's sunday...count me out.
Necromancer 10-05-2000, 04:08 PM Okay okay ... yeah, but we all know how slow Saw Jai drives, so there!

Saw Jai 10-05-2000, 10:42 PM hey! i don't drive that slow! 63 is really fast for me! =P
I'm up for anything...and whatever goes down...and Joe is in...I'll just get my info from Joe...hehe
Joel Gat, 1.8L 10-06-2000, 12:19 AM Hello,
YEah, but sacramento is less than an hour away from Napa, so Sac'to wins. And, if you want, you can take the Berryessa route - that's about 2 hours but damn, if you go late enough to avoid the fishers, there's lots of tail-out driving to do out there... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif
So which weekend is it?
Joel
ndmorespd 10-06-2000, 02:23 PM Joel, Go to http://maps.yahoo.com and select "Driving Directions"... Enter the destination Napa, Ca and the start point (North Highlands, CA or zip 95660) and go for it... as I was trying to play with Necro I pasted he results from VARIOUS cities above... Sac is a whopping 12 miles closer than SNJ...
Mike
(all in PURE humor... I am REALLY bored at work... Can you tell?????)
Joel Gat, 1.8L 10-06-2000, 06:05 PM Hello,
Who said anything about North Highlands? http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif I was talking Sac as in DT. But more specifically, I used to drive in from Davis, so that was another 12 miles closer than DT which is another what, 10 miles closer than NH? http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif
Joel
ndmorespd 10-06-2000, 06:20 PM hey Joel! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif
San Jose, CA - Napa, CA - 80.3 miles 1 hours 45 mins
Sacramento, CA - Napa, CA - 58.5 miles 1 hours 17 mins
Ok... Slightly closer... but still negligable... 80 vs 60??? Not to mention the better freeway system you are driving http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif
NOT to mention I never said Sacramento... Necro started with stating "Ndmorespd: you are a lot closer to Napa than those of us in the South Bay, dude! Saw Jai and I are planning to come, which is a good 3 hour drive from here..." (Sorry don't know all the fancy ways to quote...)
(Gawsh am I bored or what???)
Mike
