I have had these tires on my car for about 10K miles now - 225/45/R17 on Gramlight 57c 17x7.5 wheels... Great rain traction, good highway ride, fairly sticky, low roadnoise, and absolute ****e for AutoX. The sidewall is way to soft for an AutoX tire, even when aired up to ~50 Psi you can feel the sidewalls start to deflect on hard cornering (though I doubt you would run into this issue on the street). The treadwear rating is 280 - I think they RE92s are 320(or 340) and RE070 (STI tires) are like 120!
As a street tire I would give them a B+ (mostly because of the slippery surface traction, they are good in mud too btw) but I don't think they are worth a damn for autox. However I did pay about $75 a tire, and compared to the Michelin Pilot Sports I had before (at $175 a tire) I would say they are pretty close other than sidewall stiffness. So if you want to save some change and still get a pretty darn good tire I would say the Neogens are worth a shot.
Also according to Nitto they have a harder tread compound to the inside of the tire allowing you to run negative camber and still get even tire wear. I thought I would give it a shot, and running -1.75 in the rear I have had no issues with uneven tire wear.
