That must be one large turbo. That thing doesn't spool till next year.

It really does not spool that late, the thing is it keeps pulling up top, so it makes the bottom end of the curve look really bad. 300 ftlbs of torque at 4400 RPM is not bad at all, although I agree it probably feels slow compared to how the car pulls at 5500 RPM.

Here is an optomistic plot(dynojet) of a SR40 and a TD04 stage 2 car both on 2.0L motors. The SR40 doesn't hit 300 ft lbs until 4500, and the TD04 makes peak torque only 700 RPM sooner!

Given the size of the turbo, that spool looks pretty darn good to me. My car makes not much more than half that wtq at 4500. Extra displacement is nice.

Still spools late for me, but then mine is a daily driver. Impressive none the less. What octane is that running on? Not to go OT, but has anyone seen the adds in magazines for the 100 octane gas that is going to be available from certain gas stations now? They are going to have pumps for it and it is legal to pump straight into your car.

Cant beat those UR Kits....truly awsome...along with the tuning! I cant wait to get my Stage 5 WRX kit in next week.

Its not a blow on your tuning man, there is only so much the motor can take, it might last a week, it might last a year, but it will not last forever..

Which Walbro Fuel Pump are you using? Seems like you'd be very close to maxing it out if its the pump people typically use.

I've seen Walbro 342's support over 650HP. How much power is Sponaugle making?

Sponaugle is making low 425ish last I read. He is using the Supra fuel pump, which seems to want more voltage to drive it really hard. In the end I believe Sponaugle will have a stouter fuel delivery system, but it appears to have some quirks to work out before it delivers.

Actually, Jeff is making >427. He has not posted a number since he threw down 427 with a 20g-td06h-8cm^2. Now, he's running a LOT more than that. I would CONSERVATIVELY guess 500 awhp, perhaps more. Look at the MAF values he's put up.

Keep in mind 500whp on a Dynojet is not 500whp on Monica. ;) Damn I wish there was a dynojet around here with the 4WD option!

As far as the fueling goes, the walbro could support 600+hp for C16, because C16 is ran so lean. With pump gas however, keeping AFRs in the low 11s at 8000rpm with 800cc injectors was not working well.

I'll have some more data after this weekend of course.

None the less, very impressive numbers. I would REALLY like to see one of the UTEC logs from this pull. That would tell a lot about the dyno.

Sorry to burst your bubble but you have had hope.. Many people have cracked 400whp on the stock sti tmic.. My friend Soon2bgreat did it on stock sti tmic and stock airbox..

True:) TurboXs did it on their car like 2-3 months ago i think. They probably could of pulled a little more power but the clutch started giving out.

Well, my requirement for my car is the following.

TMIC.... either stock or bigger HKS one
91 pump gas
1 3" high flow cat.
GT3037 with open wastegate downpipe (yes I know it is internal wastegate :lol:
stock cams
PnP head and whatever you can do to the head without changing the cams
stock bottom end
ARC airbox, zerosport intake pipe, STi induction tube
HKS equal length header and uppipe
HKS Fcon V-Pro, Blitz SBCid
Bigger injector, pump.

To me, having to buy high octane gas from a 5 gallon drum and put it in at home is crazy hassle. And again, the $5 a gallon issue :(

This is my daily driver/beater, I already spend $350~$400 a month on 91 pump, I don't want to spend $800 a month on gas :lol:

yeah I know water injection works.

but somehow injecting water into the combustion chamber scares me, water is both non-combustible and non-compressible :(

I'll see what I get with my set up and go from there, maybe I'll have to run a FMIC afterall.

Once you go WI you never go back. It let me run so much boost I blew my gaskets but the internals were unharmed. WI is 115 octane on demand ;)

And I don't use water usually, methanol is the way to go and I only use 2 gallons every 1k or so depending on the ledfoot.

:rolleyes: No 500whp 2.xL is going to have gobs of tq below 3500rpms. Give me a break. If you want both, buy an LS1. This has GREAT spool for a high hp turbo 4.
