Don't you mean a few months away? ;) 8 weeks is not what I would consider a few...

>Don't you mean a few months away?

Nope! Not in my world of zoom, zoom! LOL

Let's see, month of September has Labor Day race weekend, Leaf Peeper Run/Solo II the 11th/12th, then there is the Sally Rally on the 18th, and the Triad Rally on the 25th. Mmm... looks like September is gone.

With life, work, and rally layout, there isn't much left of August...guess that only leaves a few weeks before the event happens in October?

I would go, but Uncle Sam is sending me sightseeing.

Already registered. Hopefully it will be snowy by then.

Is this going to be another "race to have fun" rallycross? Or are we going to be racing for points/best time overall or whatever the competition would be.

Can we use studded tires?

Uh........im still uncertain what this actually is. Is this like a mud bogging rallyX or is it just like a regular autoX in a huge paved lot with cones? Im interested but don't want to damage my new body kit. Sorry for the questions, but this looks like it'll be fun.

It's basically an autocross on the dirt. Although, I don't like that much and am trying to get them to try something different next time.

Last time it was basically a 100' x 200' that, from looking at pictures, was set up like an auto-x. There are differences I'm sure. It was low speed, maybe 22 mph max, I only got out of first gear like twice.

I want them to do more of a prorally/clubrally setup, like with more straight stretches and more turns.

Nah, it will happen, it just needs to be tweaked perfectly. I've seen several SCCA sanctioned rallycrosses with the setup I have in mind.

It won't come anytime soon though.

Yeah, those are pics I took. I think Jake or someone is going to be uploading more sometime.

Mike: When I was there last time it was just mud and grass. There won't be huge gigantic rocks sticking out, but part of it will inevitably be gravel.

Give me a car and I will do it, I know I can run the wifes 4runner, but with its craptacular traction control, I do not think it would be any fun.

Hey Kapa can I borrow your car to run to the store say on October 16th? :D

Isn't there a fuse that governs the traction control? This rallycross I'm going to disconnect my ABS and disconnect my goddamn horn :furious:

I will have to check and see if there is a fuse that just disables that.

Still holding out for Kapa's car though. :D

I'm going sign up as soon as I get my scca number back, and I'll be running bridgestone eagers on my factory 16's, if anyone wants to borrow rims and make a run, That's cool with me, the rims and tires are my new thrashers. aka winter rims for studs. and the tires which i have had brand new since dsm days will finally get some good use! Unless maybe re92's are better on dirt? anyone know?

it'll tear up the area....

^ yep. The place they set it up is on loan and they don't want to mess it up. I don't think studs would make much more of a rut or damage things any worse. With this snow already coming down, I really hope SCCA changes that decision.

I'll be running NRW's regardless :(

Is it right that anyone can get in for $40? I'd eventually like to get a SCCA membership but not right now. $40=rally???

Something like that. Last time you had to prepay the $40 before the race, I don't know about this time. It was $30 for SCCA members.

does each driver pay 40 or each car? im guessing each driver?

$40 a driver I think.

They also do dollar runs like autox, where you can take someone you want around the track for $1. Have to sign waivers and **** though.

I don't want to have to remount the RE92's for one day. I can't see why studs would make any difference in the dirt.

00Maddog
10-03-2004, 05:29 PM
If anyone's up to the task I will have a set of rims with tires we can swap around. I have two sets of 16's with bridgstones on both, no studs. One set sticks out more than the other, not sure which ones I will run yet, maybe mix/match?

with a cordless impact changeover will take a few minutes.

Apparently this one is cancelled. The guy that is loaning the land needs to use it or something.

There will be one in november for sure though.
