The R34 GTR most definitely puts out more then 276hp, Id say over 300crank without a doubt. I have tuned and driven an r33 as well as tuned a 32 and I can tell you they are just like supras... The r33 made 360 AWHP with a catback, intake, and boost control. I tuned that car with an Emanage. I will be doing a stock 34 soon and I can post wheel HP. I am going to go out on a limb and say them make around 260-290 Wheel power in stock form. I can say that its an awesome machine and handles like its on rails in stock form... Phatron 08-12-2004, 12:27 PM it surely makes more than 276 stock in Japan with there ongoddly high octane, but here in cali it would probably be less because of our crappy supposedly 91 octane sludge. It would probably need to be tuned on 91 right off the bat because they probably tune it on 98 or higher at the factory. THere was just an article in one of the sport compact magazines that the evo's in cali are making 30-40 less wheel horsepower than other states because of our crappy gas. Pavlo 08-12-2004, 12:41 PM They are relatively common in the UK. They do not have 276hp as stock, but I am sure that's what Nissan will claim, with a wink and a nudge of course! Estimates place the stock power at around 330hp at the crank, with a stage one upgrade (decat, filter) pushing nearer 360+hp. However, stock, the STI can can win, there is a video kicking around of on a JDM sti7 doing just that. www.gtr.co.uk might be good place to look, but don't expect a warm reception for fools. Yup, there is a vid of a MY01 JDM STi (EJ207) going from a stop vs the R34. The STi gets the holeshot and stays ahead the whole time. Our STi is arguably faster by a little bit. Stock GTR's aren't that fast (R34's in the mid to high 13 range from accounts). I dont have all of the exact specs, although they can be found. The Spec C STI is actually the type RA which stands for Rally Application :eek: and used the ej207 motor that has been known to produce upwards of 320hp in stock form. That plus many of the usdm sti components: brakes, tranny, differentials and what what set the type ra spec apart from others was its lack of creature comforts and attention to lightening the whole car. It did not come with any stereo, a/c, undercoating, and much of the sound deadening and had light weight glass. So basically you have the sti weighing about 2700-2800 lbs which makes it much quicker and extremely nimble, like pushing 1 g on the skidpad handily. Warning, dont quote me on this info here, this is only what I know from reviews and articles on the web.
