Yea because they are so common that i see them every day at stop lights, they are like civics :rolleyes: THere is a r33 local with a r34 motor swap, i will most def race it if i ever catch it out there, just for you :D

not true, thats just the number that was in the "gentlemen's agreement" that existed between Japanese auto manufacturers a few years ago.
The R34 GTR most definitely puts out more then 276hp, Id say over 300crank without a doubt.
I got to drive one, although, it was modded :)

Just play gran turismo for all the specs you need :banana:

EDIT: usefull information: They do come with a twin trubo inline 6 with STI/EVO like enthusiasm from the factory, that should handily put out over 300 at the crank.

Stock I have to give the STI the win... Just in the 1/4 mile though. I have tuned and driven an r33 as well as tuned a 32 and I can tell you they are just like supras... The r33 made 360 AWHP with a catback, intake, and boost control. I tuned that car with an Emanage. I will be doing a stock 34 soon and I can post wheel HP. I am going to go out on a limb and say them make around 260-290 Wheel power in stock form.
I can say that its an awesome machine and handles like its on rails in stock form...

it surely makes more than 276 stock in Japan with there ongoddly high octane, but here in cali it would probably be less because of our crappy supposedly 91 octane sludge.
It would probably need to be tuned on 91 right off the bat because they probably tune it on 98 or higher at the factory.
THere was just an article in one of the sport compact magazines that the evo's in cali are making 30-40 less wheel horsepower than other states because of our crappy gas.

They are relatively common in the UK. They do not have 276hp as stock, but I am sure that's what Nissan will claim, with a wink and a nudge of course!

Estimates place the stock power at around 330hp at the crank, with a stage one upgrade (decat, filter) pushing nearer 360+hp.

However, stock, the STI can can win, there is a video kicking around of on a JDM sti7 doing just that.

www.gtr.co.uk might be good place to look, but don't expect a warm reception for fools.

i saw a stock R33 dyno and it came out somewhere near 276awhp about 340 at the crank. they run low 13's in the 1/4. drivers race. the evo 6 however...

Yup, there is a vid of a MY01 JDM STi (EJ207) going from a stop vs the R34. The STi gets the holeshot and stays ahead the whole time. Our STi is arguably faster by a little bit. Stock GTR's aren't that fast (R34's in the mid to high 13 range from accounts). But then again, who keeps a GTR stock?

Well the spec C STI would DOMINATE the new usdm STI's in basically all categories, and I imagine the usdm STI was the model referenced for the original competition.

i have a buddy that has a 89 240sx coupe that my buddy did a RB24 ? motor in it ( the old rear drive only skylines).so far it has laid down 585 hp to the wheels. 11.11 1/4 mile time , still working the bugs out . turbo has been upgraded other then that bone stock motor. car has a 300zx rearend other then that its stock . water-air intercooler. here is a vid .

ummmm granted the two SR20DET motor cars dont have anything to do with this topic but the 89 240 car has a RB24 motor out of a SKYLINE so i figured i would jus tell what we got out of that older motor showing what they are capable of, sorry to confuse you :rolleyes:

I dont have all of the exact specs, although they can be found. The Spec C STI is actually the type RA which stands for Rally Application :eek: and used the ej207 motor that has been known to produce upwards of 320hp in stock form. That plus many of the usdm sti components: brakes, tranny, differentials and what what set the type ra spec apart from others was its lack of creature comforts and attention to lightening the whole car. It did not come with any stereo, a/c, undercoating, and much of the sound deadening and had light weight glass. So basically you have the sti weighing about 2700-2800 lbs which makes it much quicker and extremely nimble, like pushing 1 g on the skidpad handily.

Warning, dont quote me on this info here, this is only what I know from reviews and articles on the web.

All I know is if someone offered me a type RA or s202 I would give my right *** for either of them. :devil:
