View Full Version : First time at the track
dan avoN7 08-12-2004, 02:35 AM Went to Sacramento Raceway today. It was very very hot out, 100+ the whole day. Was hoping for a little bit better but once out there i was pretty nervous being my first time and all. First two runs were 12.9's and i got down to 12.8 in the last two. On the street my launches feel alot better so hopefully next time i wont be so nervous and can get the 60ft down. Also i couldn't get the manifold warm, just letting my car idle the egt's werent high enough to warm it up inbetween runs. Oh well.
Reaction .823
60ft 1.86
ET 12.863
MPH 106.57
So yea hopefully next time out it won't be 100+ and i can get some better launches. Also i think i will put my stock wheels on that have little tread. I am running volk ce28's with s-03's and i think they stick too much and dont allow the tires to spin a little off the line. Mods are vishnu xede, vf30, blitz fmic, sti injectors, uppipe, turboback, hks intake, perrin turbo inlet.

neversatisfied 08-12-2004, 11:39 AM My car feels faster on the street also. Might have something to do with the crappy track conditions around here though. You car runs pretty hard for it being that hot of a day.
ASpec818 08-12-2004, 04:13 PM wow 12's with a vf30. nice! how effective is the vishnu xede? can it compare to a cobb stage xxx setup? it seems like all u have mainly upgraded is turbo, injectors, pump, and exhaust

V6TurboTA 08-12-2004, 04:19 PM Wow 12's with a VF30?
My friend has been running 12's in his o2 wagon for... 2 years now?
Best of 12.4@108 on pump gas.
12's in 100degree weather is pretty impressive tho :D

Swine 08-12-2004, 04:30 PM yeah, a 106 trap in 100 degree weather on pump with a 30 is pretty damn fast.
your et could be lower, but atleast we know your car is making good power.

Does your friend run Ca 91 pump?
V6TurboTA 08-12-2004, 05:34 PM 12's on 91 octane in 100 degrees is VERY impressive. I didnt take that into consideration :)

TygerStile 08-13-2004, 03:29 PM Yeah, good times... especially with our great cali 91 octane. I'm running a similar setup, but I havent had a chance to run the 1/4 mile.
skywalker 08-13-2004, 11:29 PM Don't forget the big FMIC. ;) It sure helps to keep the car cool in between runs and you can get quite a bit more timing out of the car, which in turn you can get quite a bit more power.

volkl23 08-14-2004, 01:45 AM Very very good numbers for 100 degree weather! I'm sure you can shave a few tenths if it were a lot cooler.
