Do a search under this forum with the word nitrous...you will find about 5 pages on this topic in this forum alone. You should be able to find any answers you are looking for.

I dunno, from amazing racing footage released in hollywood, it apparently blows off your metal floor runners and makes your laptop say danger to manifold.

Get a tuner who knows what he's doing and you'll be fine. Also colder plugs and race gas help...

many people have sprayed on the stock bottom end.. You definetly want a good tune, race gas and supporting mods..

good advice..

but...

if your tuner does a good job then your first doctor's visit will be to the tranny doktor.... instead of the motor medyk..

you'd be better staying within the 30 shot range going into the block.50-75 shot going through the intercooler.

Here's an educated answer on nitrous:

Nitrous Oxide is an oxidizer, and is therefor corrosive to metal. So off the bat, nos will cause some damage to the internals, no matter what the application is. Having said that, usually its burned before in can corrode parts significantly, but you should keep this in mind.

You will be creating an instantly lean condition, in which case you will have to compensate by richening the mix. This can be accomplished through a number of methods: wet injection, tuning the car/ecu, or propane injection. If you can also cool your intake are make the car run colder, this will also help prevent detonation and make sure your car doesnt go boom.

Finally what you have to understand is that this will put ENORMOUS stress on your parts since your spiking the power instantaneously as apposed to having a horsepower curve which is more gradual. If your want to be sure about your car, replace parts that will be affected by this with stronger forged parts or ones rated to that target horsepower (this means your engine and drivetrain).

Is it safe? Tuned properly and used wisely your car could last. It will comprimise your car's integrity no matter what and essentially shorten your engine's life. So it really depends on what you want to do with the car. If you want to have it problem free up to 150k miles, dont add it. You want spank ass for the next 20k miles, give it a shot.

read what blackedoutrex says, this is truth.

why there is so much hatred for nitrous these days is unfounded, except it is seen maybe as an easy, cheap mod, and something honda kids do as a first mod to their car for the fast factor, then they burn up their auto tranny, or punch a hole in the block.

the truth of the matter is, that nitrous works when tuned propperly. that $100 system from NOS, or ZEX, or whoever will be more expensive when you factor in that YOU HAVE TO TUNE to make it worth something, even if it is a 30shot to cool down intake temps.

there is a reason that every serious drag car (top fuel, etc) runs nitrous...

this thread is stupid.

NOS when used correctly is very safe. When it is not used propperly, it can be VERY unsafe. Just like a gun, if you know how to use one you shouldnt have a problem.

end of story.

.016 40 fuel
.024 25 nitrous
.026 30 nitrous
.030 40 nitrous

I found this out for my WRX using the Nitrous Oxide Jet Size Caculator (http://www.robietherobot.com/NitrousJetCalculator.htm)

I got this email from ZEX below.
NOS jets will not interchange with ZEX systems. Nitrous Express, Nitrous Works, Compucar, TNT and Nitrous Proflow jets can be used with our system.

I have not been able to find the smaller jets yet, still looking. Although I did find them on ebay with a minimum order of 8 jets at $5 each (I only want two, 30 shot). NOS system jets are easily bought anywere.
