Hey all, I was wondering if our cars could handle a 50 or 60 shot of NOS?...possibely a wet kit...I know this has been discussed but I just couldnt get a definite answer...i know that so many people get trigger happy and i know in my case i would be mature enough to handle it and would take the proper steps before running, obviously with some better plugs and octane booster and maybe spray once in a blue moon and at the tracks on and off...now with this being said would it be alright?...and i also understand i can just up the boost and probably get the same results but i personally wanted to run NOS, it would be my first NOS experience, what do you all think?...and would i need to do anything to the ECU?

I think you should not waste your time and money. Get the STI Utec and you will be plenty happy with about the same power gains...and available all of the time.

I am also in the market for engine management but i finally got to sit in a car with NOS in it so i was wondering if about it being ran in our cars...

You can run it, but that is considered a down the road mod by most of the folks here. An exhaust system and engine management will cost more, but will give you better safety and power than nitrous. Don't let the coolness of nitrous or any modification overpower your concern with safety and methodical research.

Personally, if you add up what the entire nitrous setup will cost, plus how much nitrous you'll be using/purging....you'll seee that you're getting pretty close to say a turbo upgrade or other mod that will always be there. Plus many people call nitrous 'cheating' etc.

A 50 shot is what you should run. JUst change your plugs to one step colder copper. A good intake and exhaust and youll be fine. I would just get some gauges to monitor. And maybe some tuning to make sure everything is kosher.

I have run up to an 80 shot NA, and run a 55 shot at 4-5 lbs of boost. All in a 1990 2.2. Car still runs. Have gone through about 4 bottles. Plan on trying 10 lbs of boost and a 60 shot tonight at PIR.
