STiLL WILL
08-30-2004, 10:11 PM
Well, if the offset on these are 48mm, they will definitely sit wider than the real BBS RE's. The BBS RE's have a 50mm offset. STi guys, you may be able to get away with an STi Pink spring drop and 235's with these Rota's. I know for a fact you can run 225/40/18 on the RE's with the STi Pink springs with no rubbing problems and plenty of room to upgrade to 235's....but since these Rota's have a 48mm offset, you may have a hard time fitting 235's.

any STi guinea pigs willing to try 235/40's with these Rotas and lowering springs?? :D

-Matt

GTR STI

I will be using 235's on these wheels.... I have a drop, but not pinks. If I can remember correctly I have tanabe springs(bought a cheap set of springs untill coilovers were in my budget, and if I can remember correctly the specs were similar to pinks) Will let you know if the sale on my stock wheels goes through.

Matt,

I've used 235/45/17 Kumho MXs on my 17x8" Rota Torques with both Espelir ASD and Prodrive springs with no rubbing at all in the rear;

http://www.mcnproductions.com/sti/suspension/prodrive5.jpg

I'm hypothesizing that 235/40/18s should fit too (at least with the MXs).

I'm running 235/40/18 Toyo T1-S on my BBS REs with Prodrive springs without a problem too.

Do the 17x18 Torque's fit the brembo's... Also, is there ANY rubbing issues with a car that is lowered??? (Eibach kit 1.2" front, 1" rear)

yes, the 17x8 toruqes clear the brembo and will not rub (My car has 235's and is lowered about 2.2" with coilovers without any rubbing issues)

Any chance the new Formula Mesh will come in a 17 x 8? or 17 x 7.5?

At this time there is no plan for 17" formula Mesh wheels

nice, fit the STI? 04?

Yes they do fit the 04 STi

when will they make 17x8.5?

No plans for this wheel in 17x8.5, but we do have 17x8.5" slipstreams coming out.

Check out the wheel page at www.subydude.com for upcoming releases

Any pics of the gold or steel grey installed?

Unfortunatly no pics of them installed yet

What size tire do you need to run in order to get the 18x8 to fit with out rubbing on a car with eibach prokit springs?

225/40/18 would be the size to use if you want no rubbing issues at all.

Would it be possible to fit a wider tire on an 04 STI? I would like to go wider than stock, and not have any major issues(rolling feders is not a problem)

if you roll the fenders you should be able to run a 235/40/18, but keep in mind that this is slightly taller then stock so you will throw off your speedometer a little bit.

Any chance for a shipping quote to Puerto Rico?

Sure, email us your full address to sales@subydude.com and we'll get you a shipping quote.

I have a 2004 STi and I am interested in a A/S wheel/tire package. I like the 17" flat black Subzeros....do they fit my ride? If yes then may I have a price with the Falken Ziex ZE 512s. If no, what do you have in a similar black color? I would need the inexpensive Duralmin black lugs as well.

Edit: I am pretty sure the subs do not fit. I like the black/gunmetal royal grids as well. For clarification, are the royal grids a black black? I don't want a bronze type black.

Thank you.

Did you mean Royal Gunmetallic for the grids...that is not Black..it is gunmetallic...which is a VERY dark grey....similar to bronze...but quite a bit darker.
