First off, if this is the wrong forum, go ahead and move it, mods.
I got out of my car today at work and the alarm wouldn't arm/doors wouldn't remote lock. I assumed (hoped) the battery in the remote was dead and locked them manually. When I came back out, the car still wouldn't respond to the remote, so I unlocked it with the key, which promptly set off the alarm (which apparantly arms itself?). I messed around a bit, disconnected the battery and such, and finally disconnected the alarm module underneath the center console.
Before trying to fix it, I called roadside assistance which offered to tow my car an hour and a half to Birmingham and then leave me looking for a ride to go pick it up after it's fixed. If it comes down to it, now that I've got it started, I could drive it to the dealer, but 1) thats further than I want to go, 2) would take too long, and 3) I would have some idiot dinking with my car.
I called the service department and asked if there was anything he knew of that I could do to get my car started (this is before I'd disconnected the alarm module). His advice was to cycle the key through the ignition 3 times. Didn't do any good.
Does anyone else have any idea what I could do? I've got an HKS turbotimer installed, so I've clipped the one grey wire that prevents the alarm from being armed while running, but it's been working fine for months until today. Any advice is appreciated!
