i have relocated my battery to the rear and got a hook up on a HKS Circle Earth kit. i was planning on making a post screwed down to the car to the stock batt negative postion. what my ?? is , is the grounding kit just as functional not being mounted on the negative of a battery?

Long lengths of cable are less effective, but assuming you've used heavy gauge wire from the battery in the back to the components in the front of the car, then taking a ground off of that connection will be your best option. That's not as effective as a battery located closer with a shorter length of cable, but you must of been ready for minor trade-offs when you did the mod or else why would you of done it? :)

for the grounding mod i dont believe you actually need hefty cable
i think that 10 gauge would suffice for runs as long as the car
i dont know that much about electronics, but remember, were only assisting the ground, were not grounding the car :)

Yes (although "just as functional" may just mean that it also has no function :D ). As 420WRX says, just make sure you have nice big diameter cables from the battery up to the front (probably 0/1 gauge).

Yeah I have a 4ga trunk grounding kit and I dunno what I did without it..

Before grounding the LED in my wing was dim and inconsistent.. Now it's bright like the sun on crack.. And the LED pulses are super responsive.. It's like a night and day difference.. :lol:

rich, i think you will be ok with grounding stuff up front even though the battery is in the back. just make sure there isnt alot of paint on the spot where you ground to so you get a solid ground. some people have had to use a little sand paper to get an effective ground.

Basically a trunk grounding mod doesn't exist cause it's not very usefull.. There's nothing in the trunk that really needs a better ground, including the lights. ;)

This grounging thing.... It doesn't need huge wires from the battery to all over. You can make a kit with some 10ga wire. All it is doing is making up for all the poor grounding points in the engine bay. Not every connection to the chassis is a perfect ground due to paint, poor welds differences in metal, etc.
I see people dumping money on a grounding kit and LMAO wishing I thought of it first.
