I plan to have a set of 9007 HID on stock healight.

Would you mind posting some pic to show how your cars looks like after having the HID on it, since the old post pic are mostly gone.

Would you mind telling me what brand you are using and how much is it cost?
my budget is around $400-500

And ppl said they don't look good with HID on stock headlight, but will they look like a Acura 3.2 TL with OEM HID(they are also like reflector housing)
Do your car look better than stock halogen light( i guess it will be), but how better?(even you aim them a bit down until not to blind ppl)
I guess I will aim them down not to blind ppl, but honeslty i have PIAA 80 pro kit fog ligt on my car, when ppl blind me or flash me, i use the fog light to blind them sometime

Sorry for too many question, but thanks for take time to read and reply.

Cars with OEM reflector HIDs have light housings with optics that are designed for the light output of the HID bulbs. You don't get the same results with aftermarket retrofits in halogen housings. The light will not be as well-controlled and there will be more glare. There is also the matter of quality, many of the currently available aftermarket kits are Asian-made and don't hold up well.
Poorly executed retrofits are the main reason the NHTSA banned the sale of all such kits last year. This also eliminated most reputable vendors from the HID aftermarket.

I have heard great things about the phillips hid's. Check out http://www.xenonfactory.com
I do agree with what Mulder said, but I still think that I am going to get HID eventually. You could always find the projector insert, but then you spending about twice what you wanted. It is all about personal preference man, just don't go too cheap, you will regret it.

i got McCulloch HID brand new for 220 shipped from ebay, they are 5500k is easy to install and it looks great. my headlamp is a stock 02, be prepare your lights will shine all over the place. You can aim more to the ground to advoid affecting coming trafic, i didnt bother to do it cause there are so many cars with hid in my area. However if you live in U.S. i heard is illegal to have aftermarket hid install. One thing i must say it once you install your install i can promise you wont regret it, please do not compare them with aftermarket light bulb.

Sry i dont have a pic of the lights

To answer your first question, there is really only a small number of reliable aftermarket HID manufacturers. Manufacters fit the best components to cars that come equipped with HID. Here's a link that details the components used by manufacturers: http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/car-oem-hid.htm. As you'll notice, manufacturers use Philips or Osram bulbs. These are the best. You'll also notice that Hella, Philips, and Bosch ballast are used. I have not seen Bosch ballast for resale, but the others are popular. Another characteristic of all OEM HID is the colour temperature of about 4100K. Bulbs at this temperature produce the whitest light (higher temperatures tend towards blue and then purple), and the most of it. If you follow these guidelines I think you will be satisfied with your products. As IMPRZV1 said, xenonfactory.com is a good source of all-Philips kits, right in your price range as well.

To answer you other question, yes, your lights will look similar to a 3.2 TL, but either they will have to be aimed considerably lower (further hurting the already lousy light pattern) or they will cause excessive glare (as Mulder said). The 3.2 TL has OEM HID (HID optimized housing) and even it has more glare than I enjoy (OEM HID projectors are best).

PS: IMPRZV1, you can get projectors retrofitted by hidtech.com for cheap. Check the site. Beam pattern not perfect, but better than reflector housing and no excessive glare. To see the result of hidtech's work, check this: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=544214&highlight=hella. Hidforum.com has pics of the same in an MY02 WRX.

I have the Osram 8000k kit in my stock headlights. I will take pics tonight when it gets dark.. I really like it. Makes nice blue light. Increase lighting up-front and on sides of roads.

Do you think it will be a high risk to have HID on my car if I drive in Southern California??
