View Full Version : Got pictures of a Cobb CAI installed? (02+ design)
dRu888 09-15-2004, 06:41 PM Hi, just want to make sure I installed everything right. The 02+ designs come with a 'T' tube that makes things slightly different from what I'm used to and I was just wondering if I hooked up everything ok.
Sooo if anybody could give some pictures of their Cobb CAI 02+ design that would be appreciated. :)
piker28 09-15-2004, 07:16 PM should just have two hoses going into that T tube then into the intake hose, simple as that :)
<--has 03 pics hah so i cant give ya any

The filter housing.
Wylde Horses 09-16-2004, 02:59 AM Ok, I'm new to Subies. Well, I don't actually have mine yet, but here's what I'm curious about: Where is the mass air flow meter? At first I thought the filter was hidden somewhere in the fender and the black filter housing was the meter.
rabbitnutz 09-16-2004, 09:12 AM ^ that's what i htought...i thought it wasa fancy cover...because i Have a MAF...i know the newer subies don't have MAF though....i think it's called MAP sensors, or whatever.....buti know mine has one, and that's probably why i can't have cobb intake...
piker28 09-16-2004, 12:27 PM the pic is off a 02 and we dont have MAFs no one has yet to post a pic of the cobb with the MAF on there since cobb just released that intake
Wylde Horses 09-16-2004, 12:41 PM Ahh, ok. How do the newer cars measure the air then? Can someone tell me a little more about this MAP sensor?
The MAP is right at the far end of the pipe, just before the throttle body. That gets it the hell out of the way nicely :D

J/K but you should expect your MAF adaptered Cobb intake to look similar to something like this. Expect a hose to go into the fenderwell, then the Cobb air filter connected to the maf/airflow sensor, then piping going into the throttle body. The piping going into the throttle body will/should have 'ports' on it so you can connect your PCV, vacuum and other hoses (if need be) to it.
MattDell,
If you don't mind, could you measure the length of your air filter for me? If PRM has a different air filter housing length (which I'm sure they do from their site), your air filter size may be just the ticket for what I'm looking for. Thanks!
dRu888 09-16-2004, 06:54 PM awesome thx for the responses =)
thing is none of the tubes on the 'T' given seem long enough to go where their supposed to go >:T, i dunno here check out these pictures, could somebody match all these up for me? :)

rabbitnutz 09-17-2004, 02:53 PM quick question.....on MY98s....i have a big vacuum tube that comes from somewhere near the throttle body....would i just have to make a custom T adapter to make it fit with the other vent/vacuum lines ? or is there a tube coming off the intake already for this big misterious vacuum tube ?

Yeah, I know! :p It won't allow me to post a link to your post or your pics though. I had to download it and upload it to my server. I guess it's an I-club vs NASIOC thingamajigga or something. I dunno!

Which vac line are you talking about? I've tried all the intake ideas on my 98, so I have a pretty good idea of how they work... ;)
