Guys,

I just removed my turbo and I heard a lot of people on the board mention the oil return line/hose. However when I took my Turbo off this weekend, I did not see any oil line at all. All I did see was a total of 3 hoses all which contained or leaked Coolant when disconnected. As for the 3rd line which is underneath the turbo (the biggest line of the 3) I did not see oil come out of this line, however is this the line everyone is speaking of? Any pics or diagrams would be great!

Thanks.

The oil return line is right at the bottom of the turbo. It is the metal pipe that sticks out the bottom. Very little oil comes out of the turbo but a crap load of coolant comes out of the lines.

There should have been an oil feed line going in to the top of the turbo, as well. I hope no coolant came out of that, or you've got big problems :)

On the VF39, coolant goes in on the side, around the inside of the cartridge, and comes back out on the same side from the lower banjo bolt - both of these are hose fittings with clamps. On the top is a banjo bolt with a hard oil feed line - this comes from the block and goes into the turbo. The oil circulates through the cartridge and comes out the bottom - it's low pressure, so the oil return line is just another clamped hose fitting, and the oil drips back down into the system.
