I got into the 12's (12.7) run'n stage4 with VF34.
2002 - 5 speed
UTEC (tuned)
VF34
STI Injectors
Walbro fuel pump
TXS up-pipe,
TXS down-pipe
TS turbo back exhaust (w/cat)
APS TMIC
HKS SSQ BOV
APS Short Ram Intake
Just about at the end of the modifications for awhile but I go to the 1/4 track a lot. Trying to decide on headers or a 35 shot of nitrous (for track use only). Will I see a big difference with just a header upgrade or better off just get'n the nitrous for use at the track? What is the next upgrade normally done at after stage4. I do not want to up-grade from the VF34 so I think my options are limited. Thanks in advance.
If you spend a lot of time at the strip, you may want to save that money for a new clutch or new gears.

Sale on headers (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=619485)
Headers will give you everyday smiles and good for the track. Nitrous is good for the track. Which do you want?
Also, don't overlook other mods aside from what has been mentioned above. A lightweight pulley and/or a lightweight flywheel will be a nice addition as well. Water injection for more boost maybe?

A lightweight fly is gonna make the car harder to launch as it seems he's pretty interested in drag racing.

with the nitrous, you'll be low 12s for sure...and high 11s if you're lucky.
with the headers, you'll cut a few tenths off your time.

Nitrous is the ticket if you want to go faster.

go ahead and get all of the available power out of your set-up first... and then do nitrous. no point in spraying if you still have power potential left in the stock pieces of your car.

stg4 pushes the stock internals pretty hard, if you spray a stg 4, I'd have the cash on hand for a rebuild of the engine, and possible tranny depending on how you launch.
I agree with the clutch, you'll need one shortly if you don't have an aftermarket already
Header's not a bad option, I believe you'll need a retune, so budget for that if you go that way. Definately a lot safer on your setup than nos.
I'm at about a stage 3 with the vf34, and I plan on keeping this setup until I break the engine, then i'll go v7 and 6mt probably. Might want to start saving now. . .

My stock clutch has 81k on it so I know its about ready to give out. Probably going with the Exedy stage2. A good friend of mine owns 2 transmission shops so hopefully if I have a problem he can hook me up. I appreciate all of the feedback from everyone. The light weight crank pulley might be the next step. I hear Perrin makes a nice piece.
