I am starting the process of building a carputer, but just had a quick question, as I haven't seen any 05's with one yet. Is the center dash area, where the double-din CD player is, the same exact size/depth as the '04? I ask to make sure that the 7" Lilliput touchscreen I will most likely use will fit, as I have seen it mounted perfectly into an '04 dash. Thanks.

I've been interested in doing this as well and was wondering if you guys could send me some of your plans. My two main concerns are placement and also power (having to shutoff and re-boot the computer everytime the ignition is turned on/off).

The 04 and the 05 din is the same depth/size, however the dash panel is completely different.

If you guys are interested, follow up on this thread for a 7" LCD touchscreen. There's several of us who would like the in dash carputer setup and we could get a group moving and share our build plans as we go along.
