I'm looking at getting my first performance mods here shortly. I've done some research and have narrowed it down to two potential combos. My question is which deal will give me the most power I can use?

A.
STi cat cat-back from SPD $368.00
Cobb Intake $269.00
Cobb pulley $219.95
Total (sans shipping costs) = $856.95

B.
STi cat cat-back from SPD $368.00
Cobb camshafts $499.00
Total (sans shipping costs) = $867.00

As you can see, either way I like the STi cat-back. So, for about that amount of money, which will give me more power? I don't really care about asthetics (intake sound at WOT, looks, etc...). What would I do without this club?

Go with B.
It will give you more power, and in return you will be happier :)

Keep in mind that the cams cost ~$400-500 to get installed if you cant do it yourself. (and this about a 11 on the 1-10 difficultly scale)

Actually, I'd take the pulley off of list A, and put the money towards the cams.

I'm not convinced that a pulley will show you any noticable gains, other than perhaps throttle response, on an otherwise un-optimised engine. If you're racing, every HP counts. On the street, I don't think you'll even notice it.

Fwiw..
If I had 900 for power mods....
1) cams. stage 1 if you're going to turbo later, stage II if NA all the way.

Thats 900+ some inc install.

peak hp 180 (+14 or was that 15?)

OR
1)ganzflow $130
2)Catback exhaust $400ish
3) borla headers.

peak hp ~189ish.

FWIW if you have a chunk of cash now, do the cams as its easier to pick up the small bits along the way.....
