Nope, it is real! It looks quite snazzy! Very professional appearance, no exposed boards, LED's or anything, just a nicely powdercoated box with VERY high quality connectors. They actually have real pivot latches instead of the other cheap alternative found on many products.

Nice. Makes me wish they didn't cost so much (my Corolla doesn't deserve something worth more then itself).

They can make them for anything I think, go ahead and treat your Toyota. ;)

they also make them for builts RS's. if you have cams, full exhaust, intake, and such, you can expect to see 12-18 hp gain on an NA.

Is the Hydra going on a 2.0 or 2.5? Is it a VF22 or a Zilla series?
I feel my bank account shrinking...

when is the STi version out? I've been on a waiting list for one of these things for over a month! Great News!

This will be going on our 2.5L hybrid with an experimental turbo. ;) We may have a new turbo available depending on how this testing goes.

Does this mean you may have an EG uppipe for the Tial WG with this turbo?
Will I need new pistons?

dammit why is yours so much nicer to look at then mine!!!

Hydra has made some improvements for Element Tuning in the looks and quality department. Element also supplies some additional hardware for easier installation.

Thanks,
Phil

I was commenting on the new look... what are the other differences in quality you are referring to? everything else pretty much looks the same as mine.. except for I have the old sticker box... not that nice looking logo hehe... and is this exclusive to element?

We are having a local exhaust shop here custom fab up an uppipe for us, or rather, they are taking another uppipe we have here, and adding the feeder pipe for the Tial.

Well, got the box installed. The install was quite easy, the instructions from elementtuning.com were great, even the wiring of the wideband.

This is such a nice system! I will take some install pics this afternoon.

Nah I think he was selling both the Hydra and the Utec with the car. There was something in the car for sale classified, he'll probably chime in here.

is the hook up for an RS going to be just as easy? i guess that one is going out to the RS-T people since WRXers prob wouldn't know. and does it work with cruise now? and any changes?

Yeah, I've got one on my RS, easy install, easy to tune, runs great.

I never had cruise control in the car so I can't say anything about that, but the Hydra's a great system.

The cruise control will work. At least it does on my 02WRX. It should only be a problem for the STI guys with the DBW throttle body.

Read the tuning guides on Element Tuning's website, if you haven't already. I have more info for you but I don't hijack this thread. Seach a little, then start a new thread.

Its for my 2002 WRX... sorry to hijack. I ran it all day... maybe its just me and I know people will not like what i have to say, but with the hydra unit there is a huge deal with passwords and encryption. It gets me very confused and before anyone says anything, I have been talking with phil from element about this. and I was told to ignore it. But being the nitpicking jerk that I am , I get nervous when I see "fails" under encryption keys. Honestly i think its a great product, I have been helped tremedously, and I am sticking with it and struggling on my first tuning assignment. The tuning guides have been read, I know the software pretty well. The biggest thing right now is that I have nothing to compare my current map/experience too. I understand what I am looking at but without a comparison to where i was or some previous experience i find myself frozen in front of the injector pulses...so thats probably the help i need most

It show "fail" in some of the spots because you are locked out of those areas. In most cases those are areas of the EMC you don't/won't need access to. I know it says pass or fail but it means you have unlock codes for some things but not all. Insted of ignoring it just understand it as not being a bad thing. When you have time, start a new thead. There are quit a few guys on tuning the Hydra that will help. I had a bunch of info that I was going to PM you but if you ask ?'s in a thead it will help you and others.
