I gather MSRP is around 23500 or something, and that is supposedly a few 1000 above invoice. Anyone know for sure?

View Full Version : What is WRX dealer invoice cost? Benno 06-19-2001, 10:50 AM I gather MSRP is around 23500 or something, and that is supposedly a few 1000 above invoice. Anyone know for sure? 96Lconversion 06-19-2001, 10:54 AM MSRP is about $24,500, dealer invoice for a model with no extra options is about $22,800, as far as I've seen. Thats about how much I'm getting my WRX for next spring. If your a member of www.IMBA.com for more than 6 months, you can get a new scoob for dealer invoice. Spa2K 06-19-2001, 12:36 PM Go to http://www.edmunds.com/ for the invoice prices on the cars and all factory-installed options. Benno 06-19-2001, 02:17 PM Thx, looks like the 5 speed wagon invoice is 21523, plus destination charge is 22048. I wonder if the IMBA deal is with or without destination charge? Seems like a good price. Too bad I won't be eligible for that until October! 2.0 guy 06-20-2001, 02:53 AM I'd imagine that the price you pay includes the desination charge (22048)... My deal was 800 over invoice and it was 800 over the 22048+options at invoice. I suppose I could have waited 6 months to save 800 bucks, but this car is so much fun that waiting would not have been worth the 800 bucks... You figure it would be ATLEAST 6 months (longer if you had to wait the usual 6 weeks or so for a pre-sold order). For me, timing worked out great... my S2000 drove off with its new owner at about 10am on a Saturday, and I was driving my WRX home about 1130 the same morning... For some people, it might be worth saving the 800 bucks over my deal by waiting 6 months... I mean that is like 133 bucks a month. Then again, if the best deal you can get from your dealer is MSRP, then yes it IS worth waiting 6 months... btw, the dealer I worked with said the 800 over invoice deal is good to anyone that wants one... I know better deals are out there (I've heard 150 over). But, with no sales tax, 800 over seems VERY fair... Kostamojen 06-20-2001, 03:52 AM www.carpoint.com has a better pricing system for the car, including the invoices for all the options you can click on and total up easier than the newly-installed one over at edmunds thats hard to find :p Benno 06-20-2001, 10:18 AM Looks like carpoint lists a lot more options than edmunds too - the gauge pack, wheels, etc. Plus some I hadn't seen before, like a titanium shift knob, carbon fiber knob, and a few more. 2.0 guy, I've been trying to get my RX-7 in good enough shape to sell, and that has been a long process. Finally have the serious problems solved now, and I'm going to drive it a little before I give it up! Just got the primary turbo working correctly yesterday. Anyway, my local dealer is one of those that is going strictly by msrp - I guess I could buy from someone else, but I'd really rather deal with these guys as they are the ones that will do the service on it. I just hope they are still some left when it comes time for me to buy. Just curious, what motivated you to get rid of the s2000? That's a pretty sweet car too... my dad is looking at maybe replacing his miata with one. Spa2K 06-21-2001, 12:56 AM I guess we all have our favorites ... However, some of the options that Carpoint lists are dealer-installed options (or at least port-installed options). Edmunds doesn't list prices for those options because the dealers are all over the place on pricing these options ($250-1,100 for a gauge pack?). Also, Carpoint lists the WRX as a "trim package" for the Impreza. Obviously, it's not; the WRX is a separate model. I have used Edmunds information in purchasing at least 10 cars, and it has been accurate to the dollar every time. BTW, if you happen to be using a Mac, Carpoint won't work. |
