I did the headlight clearing mod on my 2005 STi, and that was 2 weeks ago.. Everything was fine until I washed my car today, and I noticed a small amount of moisture in the upper corner amber marker. From that point on, my driver's side HID does not ignite. I haven't taken a close look at the assembly yet, but I'm assuming water got into the system somewhere and proceeded to short something.
What fuses do I check, and which plugs do I look at? Do I possibly have damage in my ballast or bulb which will necessiate replacement?
Let me know.

It seems this is becoming rather common after modding the STi headlights. Most likely water got into the ballast. Check your headlight fuses, pull the bulb and examine it for damage, and look at the ballast. It may need to be dried out.

How can water get into the ballast? It's a sealed case below the headlight assembly.
I'll keep everyone posted after I take a look tonight.

Just read a post like this in the Wanted ads.. An 05 owner thought his HID bulb had blown.. turned out it was water in his ballasts or something.
